Hey everyone, I’m new to this site, so I hope I’m posting in the right spot.

I have a question about phantom power.

I have a Sushibox Neptunium on the way, and I plan to have that replace my Radial Pro48 Active DI Box…

That being said, my sound guy typically turns on phantom power to the DI when I go to play.

I plan on mentioning the switch to him, but in the case that he turns on phantom out of habit, or happens to have it on when everything is booted up, could this damage the Neptunium pedal?

I don’t know much about how it all works, but it was a thought that came to mind.

I'm pretty sure that phantom power give you any issues with Nathan's pedals but the can't be powered by phantom power.

A quick Google suggests it's page 696.

Hi - this same question came up a couple of weeks ago - Nathan from Sushi Box FX designed/tested the pedals for this and there isn't an issue if phantom power is accidentally sent - though it can't run from it.

Neptunium has built-in phantom power blocking, phantom power will have no effect on the pedal.

Yes, Grand Slampegg has built-in phantom power blocking as well.

None of my D.I. pedals have ever been susceptible to damage from phantom power, but I had a handful of reports that some earlier units got noisy when phantom power was supplied (it seemed to vary based on the quality of the power). Neptunium, Grand Slampegg, Finally v3, Venus Z, Nobelium, and most Finally v2 actively block phantom power, preventing both damage and noise. I'll have to check my records when I started implementing the blocking bits, but I believe it was right around when I started doing the WBIM Finally v2.

Alrighty, ReverseDI is tested & validated and ready for purchase (The photo is missing a 1/4" jack since I'll solder this first one with whatever option the first customer picks regarding 2nd jack location). By default it's a collapsed section on the product so it doesn't confuse regular DI customers, but just expand the secret options section and pick the Reverse mod and you're good to go!

The circuitry is the exact same between the regular and reverse version, literally just the male vs female XLR jack is the only difference. If you ever want to use it "the other way", just get a same-gender XLR adapter to flip it back (male to male to make the Reverse back to normal, or Female to Female to make a normal into a Reverse)

I played a fun jazz gig last night and decided to experiment with using the MORE in my amplified double bass signal chain. I put it right after my Radial ToneBone PZ Deluxe, and set it dead-on at noon, just to get some warmth without much in the way of gain increase. It was an interesting color. It definitely added some edge in the midrange that worked well in the mix, versus a more 'polite' overall sound without it engaged. It wasn't the best room, so sound was a challenge to begin with, but I was pleased with the color and presence it added. Not sure if I'd use it all the time, but it was a positive result from the experiment!

If you go back to post #23,427 you will find that is what started this little project.
It was made by Pedalnetics so you can plug your mike into a Sushi pedal (Well, any pedal or anything else you can dream up).

As mentioned above, I ship USPS and use JJ tubes. The exception is that express shipping is now UPS because the last "express" USPS shipment I sent took 10 days to get from Chicago to New Jersey.

Also express international shipments usually go via DHL.

What are you running in Dr W? 12ax7, au7, at7? The HiWatt stack is great and very different from UA's Fender controls with a lot more character available up high. I love a little modulation (usually phaser or flanger) added to my dry signal. I use a S'Box glass butterfly to mix about 10% wet/90% dry. It's not audible as an "effect" in a band context, but it definitely makes the bass pop beautifully in the mix.......like dash of hot sauce. On a few songs (or parts thereof) on our list I raise the mix to 50-50 for an obvious "effect", but the 10% spice factor is almost always on. The band notices it because it's even easier to hear my note envelopes without a volume boost.

Greenhouse is now live. I originally designed it because I wanted to warm up solid state modulation effects, but I found a new neat use case for it that I hadn't thought of before. If you put a drive or boost pedal in the loop of Greenhouse and really open it up you can saturate the gainstage in Greenhouse to get a beautiful tube overdrive, then use the level control to dial the volume to a usable level. So you get a tube input buffer to your drive, the overdrive pedal can really breathe with the controls dimed, and Greenhouse acts like a sort of attenuator for the drive. It's a neat effect.

What is my first reaction "I wonder what my HX Stomp would sound like with this wrapped around it"! My Stomp stomp is literally already wrapped in Sushi (Space Heater and More) and i took inspiration for this set up from the old "Coming soon" page!
