By default it's a collapsed section on the product so it doesn't confuse regular DI customers, but just expand the secret options section and pick the Reverse mod and you're good to go!

The circuitry is the exact same between the regular and reverse version, literally just the male vs female XLR jack is the only difference. If you ever want to use it "the other way", just get a same-gender XLR adapter to flip it back (male to male to make the Reverse back to normal, or Female to Female to make a normal into a Reverse)

So follow up question on the Finally: in a gig with an amp, is there any reason I couldn’t also use it for tube saturation and the HPF in the effects loop? I figure this would still make the best use of it if I’m not always using it as a DI.

Absolutely fine to use it in the FX loop.

Pardon the slight thread derail: could the reversed DIm Stick be used as a reamp box if paired with an adequate preamp? Asking because I anyway use a Broughton BBA as clean gain with my Radial X-Amp as I find the latter's built-in preamp to be slightly noisy/hissy with Level past noon. The combo Reverse DIm Stick + BBA would be super compact for reamping.

How do you like that board? I want one simply because they are the only folks I see offering a case with a top carry handle so all the pedals aren't sideways sliding against said carrier and jumbling all my knobs...

Chiming in here to say that I LOVE my xpnd. I have the smaller one with a Cooks Sol underneath at my office and it suits my needs perfectly.

If I didn't already have a Temple board and a bunch of modules for my home rig, I would pick up the larger one as well.

The board is great, can't really fault it. I was concerned the sliding section wouldn't be sturdy enough but it's rock solid. If I have to knock points off it, the only thing I can think of is that for the height adjustable legs, when the board is extended, the central legs can't be adjusted like the ones at the extreme ends. So they can end up not touching the ground, if like me, you have to raise it a bit too fix the power supply under it. But saying that, it doesn't flex and if I was really concerned, I could always find a way to get longer legs for that area. They're only threaded bolts with a rubber cover over the head and a lock nut. I daresay d'Addario sell spares.

The cable management is great too.

Thanks guys! I'm sold. I have a huge Pedaltrain Classic that is overkill right now. And like I mentioned earlier the fact D'Addario makes a top handle carrying case is a big bonus.

Yeah this is definitely one use case for it and how I'm going to try it out. I think it might be missing a couple utilities that purpose designed re-amp boxes typically have (like a phase inverter), so you might to handle some of those things manually if you're blending back on top of the original signal. It's mainly just a good way to get XLR inputs into your effects pedals!

Hey everyone, sorry I've been AWOL for a bit, busy weekend. Saturday was International Women's Day, so my wife and three daughters got all of my time and almost no sushi work was done (though I did try an akami roll in unagi sauce).

I have about a hundred emails to dig through and will be going through them today/tonight.

I'm putting my board together atm and needed some longer screws for my More and Space Heater, popped into town to my local hardware store, took the screws to see if they had what i needed to be told in the sales assistants best somerset drawl that "they do be imperial, we don't stock those"!

@Sushi Box FX are you able to let me know what size base plate screws are used on the More and Space Heater please?

The previous comments are correct, #6-32 is what is on the enclosures. The only reason I know this is that some enclosures end up with too much powdercoat in the threads and I have to re-tap them, and I know I use a #6-32 tap.

I've been fiddling with the HPF in my Finally.
It is really effective at cutting the rattles, even at the 30hz settings
However it introduces an audible hiss.
Is it normal?
Keep in mind my Finally has a 12AX7 in it so there's a ton of gain in the circuit. The basic hiss added by the Gain knob is fine, just the HPF introduces an additional high pitched hiss that is noticeable.

Anyone else notice Venus Z got an update on the website?

Nothing huge, but Venus Z has now been swapped over to all film caps in the signal path like just about everything else now, and I also added a dry/pre switch for the 1/4" output in addition to the dry passthrough jack. This changed the layout a little bit, and bumped the price accordingly.

"Easily" is subjective. It could be unsoldered, flipped, & resoldered, which for me is a mindless task. However that'd seem impossible to someone who's never held a soldering iron. That said if you're overly worried about that, a few extra bucks under the table for labor and I can do one-off wirings like putting it on wires instead of direct-pcb-soldered so it could be moved back and forth. (The empty hole on the front gets a rubber plug that could be moved to the rear hole; However I only make the rear hole if it's asked for, I hand-drill that one)

Curious if the UA folks have compared it to other fender TMB circuits and could compare contrast pros/cons.

On paper they’re all tempting but they also makes them difficult to differentiate between.

Haha I could be crazy, it just reminds me of some of his heavy overdriven breakdowns in say "Know Your Enemy". But I've been listening to alot of Rage lately too so maybe that's just what I want to hear .

So it's a #6 machine screw, which is approximately 0.138 inches (3.51 mm) in diameter, and the 32 refers to 32 threads per inch. Because of course you can get #6 screws with different threading, things aren't allowed to be easy.

Well, as a German I generally agree to favor meter, kilogram and the like. Nevertheless, I guess I would still prefer 34 vs. 35 inch scale discussions over their according 86.36 cm vs.... equivalents...
And don't ask for decimal point vs. comma!
