I have three daughters, purple is part of my life.
Seriously though, there are three reasons I put purple (they're actually pink, but basically the same) LEDs in everything:
- It's unique. It's one of the least common colors I've seen in pedals, and I think that's neat
- It's not the natural color of "tube glow". It was popular for a while (and some manufacturers still do it) to put orange LEDs behind a tube to give it an exaggerated glow, and I've never liked that. Red is a little better, but I prefer colors that are vastly different from what color a tube will normally be. The tube is doing what it's supposed to be doing, it doesn't need extra orange glow to let you know it's a tube.
- Back in the day when everything I made was custom made-to-order, I let people choose their LED color, and purple was hands-down the most popular choice. It consistently got twice as many orders as the next most picked color, so it seemed like it was a popular look.
I get that some people don't like the color, and some people don't like LEDs in general, it's a preference thing. But I think these are neat, and my three daughters agree they're pretty.
