Another highly critical review of my Particle Accelerator tonight...
I'm doing a gig on Saturday at a large, open, spacious, safe venue for older folks to dance while a four-piece band gets noisy for ~3 hours.
I had my mini board on hand for tonight's rehearsal. Switching on the Barber Linden EQ, I heard sort of a rumble around the room, "hey, that sounds really good!"
Then I turned on the PA. And it was, "whoa, no THAT sounds really good!"
I was using my new & now trusty Mustang PJ with EMG Geezer/JHZ and GHS Pressurewounds. And the gain on the PA was up pretty good but still in clean territory, but like... that range where it's technically clean but man, there's something else going on.
All this super ultra aficionadioship about exactly what method of hand-rolling a tube enough rotations gets the perfect tone... yeah that's lost on me. And also getting THE absolute perfect replica of a March of '61 complete Ampeg cabinet sound all in one pedal... lost on me too. I'm not that sort of cat. I just want beautiful sounds to come out of my rig, and maybe I was getting it without knowing it when I had a Two Notes Le Bass a couple years back, but NOW I know what I'm getting, and it's magnificent. And in a pedal 1/10 the size of the otherwise very fine Le Bass.

I will say the le bass dirty channel into an svt cl is a thing of beauty. I’ve thought many times of getting another just for that.

My Slampegg was received by USPS/Dundee on 29 December, and departed Chicago on January 4th... delivered in Switzerland on the 6th. Yours will popup soon I recon.

Well, these are some convincing comments that lead me to think about keeping my order for an Accelerator (although, I'm thinking I'll upgrade to an X). I've eliminated the Wattson for now, and while the Deep Dish is still on the curiosity list, I think I'll wait for some reviews there. I think what I'm really holding out for is the Westinghouse and/or the unnamed DI. (although I'm aware these won't be available for February.)

January is my month with a Slampegg and a London Underground. Kinda wish I went with a Particle Accelerator instead of the underground, but maybe that will be later. Although powering a bunch of Sushi pedals would require a new power supply and I'm not made of money here!
@willsellout I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts/comparison between the two. A PAx has floated to the top of my list, but I'm still remembering Kranahan's musing of getting a LU instead of a PA if he had it to do over again for an Alembic tone stack. But @kranahan, you never really mentioned why...?

That's a little concerning to me, I may have to look at different shipping options. I know USPS is a bit bogged down but it shouldn't be taking this long.It was processed through the Chicago international distribution center on the 30th, and there’s been no updates since then.
I’m not concerned, just excited.
Westinghouse prototype PCBs will be here next week, if all goes well I'm hoping to have them ready for March. Still no word on my DI transformers, I think this officially means I'm going with a different model. I really wanted to use the CineMag as they're supposed to be the same as the Jensen but a little less expensive and "with a little more color," but if it takes 4 months to get parts it's not going to be worth it and I'll pay the extra and go with Jensen.
I'm thinking I may start advertising more on the "JohnK" London Underground, I've had 5-6 requests for it so far, but it's a London Underground with the Particle Accelerator tone stack. The differences between the two are small, so it's really easy to swap the tone stacks between the two. Personally I think PA and LU are similar enough to make owning both redundant (though obviously if you want to buy both I won't stop you), but if you're having trouble choosing between the two then the JohnK London Underground is an excellent option.
Would it be too late to get that option implemented? Both my builds are for this month.
So I already ordered parts for the month, but I tend to get a few extras of things so I should have parts to do the PA tonestack for you.
I assumed that the LU (or at least the AD200) had at least a "fenderish", 2/8/2-type tonestack - am I totally off-base?
I do not, I only have pictures of what people order and I've only really started offering the raw finish this month, and the only raw order this month is a Dr. Wattson.
You're spot on, the topology of the AD200B tonestack is exactly the same as the Fender tonestack, just different component values.
That would give me a good idea of how it looks if you have a picture.
