That's a little concerning to me, I may have to look at different shipping options. I know USPS is a bit bogged down but it shouldn't be taking this long.

I'm not personally concerned yet. Further, on the receiving end I've found USPS to be the best option in terms of not getting dinged for outrageous fees upon arrival. With UPS I've occasionally had to pay upwards of 50% of the value of the pedal on delivery, between taxes, duties, and "Handling Fees".

The good: the Slampegg Twin showed up this morning.

The bad: won't have time to use it today - too much work. It'll be interesting to hear it vs. the Fliptop and the P-15.

As for the Chicago thing, I had the Fliptop sit in Chicago until it didn't. The int'l processing there seems to be S L O W right now. Hang in there, @NKBassman.

Westinghouse prototype PCBs will be here next week, if all goes well I'm hoping to have them ready for March.

Ooooooo.... Juicy! I think I'd be quite happy with a PAx of course, but I was originally supposed to be in the March builds (happy birthday to me!)... I'd be perfectly happy/willing to get moved back to March if you're okay with that!

I'm thinking I may start advertising more on the "JohnK" London Underground, I've had 5-6 requests for it so far, but it's a London Underground with the Particle Accelerator tone stack. The differences between the two are small, so it's really easy to swap the tone stacks between the two. Personally I think PA and LU are similar enough to make owning both redundant (though obviously if you want to buy both I won't stop you), but if you're having trouble choosing between the two then the JohnK London Underground is an excellent option.

I assumed that the LU (or at least the AD200) had at least a "fenderish", 2/8/2-type tonestack - am I totally off-base?

You're spot on, the topology of the AD200B tonestack is exactly the same as the Fender tonestack, just different component values.

I'm trying to find the original description of the JohnK LU, but am having trouble... What's the difference between the three again? (PA, LU and JkLU?)

While UPS and FedEx are OK, too, (I use all three) and DHL worldwide (I've received int'l stuff via USPS, FedEx, and DHL recently), for the first time in a LONG time FedEx lost a package of mine around Christmas. It was a gift to a friend. They sent me a reimbursement check since I had receipts for everything but it sucked.Domestically here in the US FedEx and UPS seem to be getting things where they need to in a reasonable timeframe.

Another USPS story: I purchased some tubes from eBay. Zero updates - said they hadn't even received the package (i.e. the "Accepted" status). Seller claimed he sent it 12/19. Guess what showed up today?

So like I said the differences are subtle, but here's a quick breakdown:

PA - Alembic F-2B preamp, Fender-voiced tonestack is between the two gain stages

LU - Orange AD-200B preamp, Orange-voiced Fender tonestack is after the last gain stage

JohnK LU (I hope he's okay with me calling it that) - Orange AD200B preamp, Fender-voiced tonstack after the last gain stage

Nathan shipped my Slampegg on 12/28 to NC. USPS showed a 1/3 delivery then yanked the rug out and says in transit but last in IL. Same boat - snail mail is the worst lately. Thankfully Nathan has checked, but dang! I’m anxious and have a place in my pedalboard waiting!

My LU is also delayed. Tracking said "in transit, arriving late" for 4 days and now it showed up scanned in Denver, where packages thus far never go on their way to me if they are not shipped from CO. Since around a week before Christmas USPS has been pretty slow, but I'm sure it will settle down soon. They are always miles better than UPS or FedEx for me.

@willsellout I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts/comparison between the two. A PAx has floated to the top of my list, but I'm still remembering Kranahan's musing of getting a LU instead of a PA if he had it to do over again for an Alembic tone stack. But @kranahan, you never really mentioned why...?

I got rid of the PA originally because I finally decided I'm not a Fender/Alembic tone stack fan. I'm even selling my prized Mesa D-180. I seem to go through the same cycle every 1-2 years. I think I want a Mesa but end up always preferring my Ampegs and sell the Mesas. I'm sure I'll own another Alembic/Fender tone stack pedal from Sushi. I said I'd probably try the LU just to try something new, not because I didn't like the PA. I thought the PA was better than the SS, which people hold in high regard on TB.

I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea. The Deep Dish uses the same compression sidechain as the LA-1A so that's obviously its closest relative, how different is the LA-1A from the Compressore?
