Hey everyone.

I'm looking for suggestions for a Sushi Box pedal that will give me clean breakup. For the longest time I thought I was after overdrive or distortion, but it seems I really just like some breakup. The sound I'm after is in the clip below. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hypothetically, how difficult would it be to rewire the dry/pre switch in the Finally3 to be a mute switch? Obviously with the pre being always on?

Probably pretty easy to re-wire that, but wouldn't you prefer Mute on a footswitch?...

Doesn’t really matter to me, it would be by hand not foot.

Hypothetically, how difficult would it be to rewire the dry/pre switch in the Finally3 to be a mute switch? Obviously with the pre being always on?

The hardest part would be that the switch is mounted to the circuit board, so you would have to do some circuit board modification to change the function of the switch without losing the preamp output for the 1/4". It's not impossible, compared to some of the other things I've been asked it's not even really that difficult, but it won't be pretty when you're done.

I'm not very good at helping with this but here are some nice noise from the Sushi Youtube site, I am thinking of getting a Tarantula Fuzz before they run out. I imagine you would want a very small amount of fuzz in there:

Just ordered a Finally v3 today. Will use it in my doubling rig (electric and upright) to add a little warmth right before the amp.

My question for those who know - I have a 1Spot power supply with a daisy chain cable and a couple of other pedals on it (Genzler Magellan preamp, Source Audio Zio Bass) - the 1Spot says it can handle up to 1700ma, and the Finally says it needs 500 - does the 1Spot have the ability to deliver 500ma to a single plug?

Just add up all the ma requirements from all your pedals - as long as it's less than 1700 you should be good.

Quick google says 80ma for the Magellan, and 200ma for the Zio. I think you'll be just fine. And you'll be able to run an xlr from every pedal on the chain!

Yes. I use 1 Spots on my 2 boards.......one of 'em has a S-Box Glass Butterfly (500mA draw) and an Elementary (250 mA) and 3 other pedals. A single plug off the daisy chain handles each pedal easily. As long as the total requirement of the 1-Spot is under 1700 mA you should be fine....the electrons will magically distribute their flow according to demand

Every time I order a Sushi Pedal I now include the optional power supply just to keep as a spare or if someone wants to try one of my Sushi or C2CE pedals, I rather they use the Sushi Box $8 power supply if they borrow one to try out or even if I end up playing with some friends at home we can all have a separate power supply.
Where else can you pick up a good power supply for that price and we know it is good gear if Nathan sells them, for $8 you would even give one to the guitar player and say they can keep it if theirs fail.
Maybe I am just lazy as I keep some wherever I have an amp and ax stacked, indoor, workshop, shed, daughter has some at her place.......

I was just thinking, I have seen this question a few times and I wonder if it is a question for @Pedalnetics , I'm sure he could make a super tiny box with just a mute switch on it that could easily attach to even the fullest pedal boards.

In my case, I’m looking for a simple tube buffer/DI for piezo pickups on upright bass. I backline basses when I travel and having just one box that provides decent saturation and harmonics straight into FOH is the goal. The simplest, most comprehensive one pedal solution is what I’m hoping for.

My own piezo equipped bass runs through a C2C Vampire Slayer before it hits the amp and I’m very happy with that scenario, no mute or DI required.

I'm a late adopter of the Sushi Box phenomenon, but in the past couple weeks I got the Tarantula and the Elementary.

I suggest the Elementary for you, if you don't need the XLR DI and all the EQ options within the Redacted ii. You can dial the gain way down and the Elementary is a beautiful sounding clean preamp. Dial up the gain to taste, and I think you get what you're looking for at half the price.

My board sends to my amp, but also sends to my IEM mix. As soon as I hit the foot switch, the Elementary made my previously sterile IEM sound blossom. And it adds sweetness to my amp, with just enough hair when digging-in.
