Thanks for the reply. I have a SBVT II on the way. Found one on Reverb. I thought about getting the Elementary, but I am holding out until the updated ones come out.I'm a late adopter of the Sushi Box phenomenon, but in the past couple weeks I got the Tarantula and the Elementary.
I suggest the Elementary for you, if you don't need the XLR DI and all the EQ options within the Redacted ii. You can dial the gain way down and the Elementary is a beautiful sounding clean preamp. Dial up the gain to taste, and I think you get what you're looking for at half the price.
My board sends to my amp, but also sends to my IEM mix. As soon as I hit the foot switch, the Elementary made my previously sterile IEM sound blossom. And it adds sweetness to my amp, with just enough hair when digging-in.

Elementary is on my short list of sushi box to pick up. And if you're worried about DI - just grab a Pedalnetics DIM stick or Mini DI - they use Nathan's custom wound transformers, so you'll end up with a proper bento box.
And just to add to the 5 DI boxes that Sushi Box FX has there are also the Bassdude DI and the Nobelium DI finished pedals that C2CE currently have in stock as well so there are many pedals we can choose from at the moment that have a DI out from Nathans builds. I can't wait to hear a review of the Bassdude DI from someone, I wonder if it sounds different from the bare PCB build from C2CE.
I happily vouch for the Pedalnetics DIm Stick, mine is used all the time and I find it equal to the venerable JDI.
A @Sushi Box FX addition is far from the worse of habits, I have a bunch already and still GASing for a few more.
I actually run the 1/4" out from my finally into a DIm Stick, so I have a balanced output for both the FOH and my power amp input with separate level controls!
It won't be long before they come with a health warning printed on them, they are highly addictive.

The purple Keeley Nocturne I just got and the dirty magic Dreamcatcher over here would look good next to that. You're killin' me. 
Looks cool. I think the High Mids will sit a little better with the tweak down to 1kHz.

From what I could tell, High Mid moved from 1.2 to 1 kHz and Highs moved from 5 kHz to 7 kHz.
Kind of. The EQ is based on GK voicing but the preamp itself is an original design.
No, PMLE used a 12AX7 but I tailored the preamp to basically run at low gain so it ran clean. On Mayday I decided to bias the tube differently and use a lower gain tube.
The intention is limited run, but based on how well PMLE sold compared to Venus Z I have been considering making a permanent swap to a smaller design for this circuit.
Mids shifted from 1.2kHz to 1kHz, treble shifted from 5kHz to 7kHz (sounds high for bass use, but Q factor is important and I promise it works), increased the voltage to the EQ section to avoid clipping when a hot input is used, rebiased the preamp to use 12AU7 instead of 12AX7, and adjusted the buffer on the 1/4" output for lower output impedance to better drive things like power amps.

Would you be able to describe the sonic differences between PMLE and Mayday?
It's been a few weeks since I had them plugged in next to each other, but the general summary based on my memory is that Mayday feels warmer and "bigger", especially in the low end, whereas PMLE was a little tighter. They definitely sound related as the EQ topology is still the same and the whole circuit only has a couple tweaks, and the EQ is flexible enough that you can dial in a lot of tonal overlap between the two, but they do have a different overall feel.
When I was designing Venus I really wanted a 12AX7 in the front end, so I forced it in and lowered the gain in the circuit until it ran as clean as I wanted it to be and left it there. I like revisiting old designs because I'm constantly learning and trying to improve, so when I dug it back out for the Mayday design I wanted to set it up in a more "ideal" way electrically. So instead of forcing the tube that I "wanted" to be in there, I said what tube makes the most sense to be in there, and the answer was 12AU7. So I set the circuit up for the way that makes the most sense with 12AU7.
