The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Personally, I think that a grande-sized edition of a pedal that is undoubtedly a bit pricier, but also includes an XLR DI, ground lift switch, and maybe even a pre/post-EQ switch, would be the edition that quite a few bassists would want as their central hub. More or less, Darkglass has made a single pedal serve three markets several times over with this approach, and though I enjoy using my RNDI now, it wasn't that long ago that I only even gave a second glance to preamp pedals that contained a top-notch XLR DI output. (in fact, I sold my Le Bass strictly because the DI was 10dB noisier than I wanted)
I don't use DI enough and in different enough places to ever have used a ground lift switch, but I've been told by at least three people that they are essential and a dealbreaker if it isn't there, so the DI will absolutely have a ground lift. I didn't even think about pre-post EQ, that's a good idea. I'll see if I can squeeze that into this design without tearing up too much, otherwise it may have to go in the next version. I really like the idea though.

Add a headphone out, and maybe an aux in, and even more folks would beat a path to your door.
Headphone out would be desirable for sure, I'll have to revisit my old headphone amp schematic and see what I can work out. Aux in would be a little trickier, but I'll see what I can do on that one.

@Sushi Box FX you know this "too many options" thing can be fixed by just making one giant pedal that does everything.
You could call it, Everything
There was a design posted on DIYstompboxes a few years back called AEFEA - Almost Everything for Everyone Almost :P It was a simple overdrive, and frankly it wasn't for me, but I enjoyed the name.

Just call it 42
I dismissed this as I read over it, but the more I thought about it it's honestly a pretty cool name. Even people that haven't read the books (Douglas Adams is one of my favorite authors) still get the reference, and it's cryptic enough to be interesting and catchy.

Based on how the test goes I will probably choose one transformer over the other, then design one or two preamps with D.I. Unfortunately DI transformers are tall, so they won't fit in any of my current size boxes. The new boxes are bigger, but that should allow a pair of 12AX7 in addition to the transformer and the rest of the circuitry.

This pleases me

Quick update for everyone in the January batch, I was hoping to get everything finished up last night so I could get it all shipped out today, but family came over and my schedule was forcefully pushed back. So everything will get finished up this weekend and all January orders will ship out Monday, February 1.

Funny that you should mention it, my sister-in-law suggested that I teach my niece how to solder, so she's in helping with final assembly right now :P

I'm still going to try to get as many done as I can today, but our post office closes early on Saturdays so it's already too late for me to ship. I will still get things boxed up and shipping notices will start going out today, but I won't be able to drop them off until Monday.
