The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

I will say, I slowed Sushi's sample down to like 25%, and the arpeggios through it made the whole thing sound like a horror movie sound track. It was amazingly creepy, my wife hated it :roflmao:
I finally found my post on the 8 of 16 options I would go for,
The Sushi Box FX Secret Society
Chorus
Flanger
Phaser
Tape Delay
Spring Reverb
Shimmer Reverb
Room Reverb
Filtered Tremolo
Cathedral Reverb
(that's 9 but I'd cut one out)

Not sure if this will help, but, my wife started getting severe sustained headaches that would last for days. The cause was electrolyte deficiency. So she started drinking Pedialyte fairly often and also using those hydration powder packs.

Knocked out the headaches like magic.
Interesting, never heard that, I will try that for mine. This is good to know.

Unfortunately however I occasionally get something worse than those, the dreaded Thunderclap variety, which can be life-threatening. Fortunately they only come once in a few years. But scary AF.

Sorry to hear what you @Sonicblaze and yours @MascisMan are going though.

@Sonicblaze @MascisMan Have you given amitriptyline (Elavil) a try? I was getting cluster headaches, which are migraine-like but over only one hemisphere of my brain - but very debilitating. They were the result of damage caused by a dissection of my right carotid artery, which itself had healed. My neurologist had me take 25mg of amitriptyline every night, and after about a week the pain of the headaches stopped completely. I still very occasionally get the visual "aura" migraine effects, but I haven't had a full-blown cluster headache in 15 years. Amitriptyline is normally given for depression, in higher doses, but its "off label" use for migraine prevention works for a lot of folks. It is inexpensive, and the only side effect I've noticed is that it helps me get to sleep.

I've done fasting, caffeine avoidance, caffeine overload, diet changes, exercise changes, daily blood draws w/ symptoms charting, genetic testing, multiple MRI's looking for changes over weeks/months, CT scan, hearing testing/audiologist consult, cardiologist consult, neurosurgeon consult, neurologist consult, other-prescription-changes, and I'm sure more that I'm forgetting at this point (memory issues = side effect, yay!); it's been about 18months, at this point I just wince when they hit and move on with my day ignoring it the best I can :)

End of the day I'm healthy otherwise, happily employed, happily married, and my boss knows about it all and let's me take time off as needed without question because he knows I'll make it up in double when I can (remote IT work makes that do-able).

That, and I get a steady stream of pedals to play with :D

Yikes, sorry to hear about the ongoing health battles. Wish you some relief my dude!

On happy notes, I think my Slampegg X is my current favorite pedal. It won so far between PA and Dr. Wattson.

And to everyone who was a bit worried about the busy-ness of the UV Print pattern, I can say it's not a problem at all. Here's a horribly lit cellphone shot from ~3 feet away:

What's your thoughts on those 3 pedals and differences? I currently have a PA, and have a Wattson on LU on order. I really like the print on that pedal!

The PA is a very clean preamp, that I loved having last in my chain. It gave me a final place to tweak gain to accommodate different soundboard setups, as well as a final eq to deal with room acoustics. The EQ is very predictable to me, and overall adds a little 'something' to the signal I can't quite describe but like.

The Dr. Wattson is probably the most different of the 3, and that's to be expected. It's definitely crazy loud gain-wise (I'll do the gain mod if/when Sushi tells us about a good one), and goes from clean to overdrive pretty quickly. It's a bit too dirty for my needs in real-life (church), but it's my favorite to mess around with at home.

Slampegg X sits between those two and deserves its spot on my board. Last in chain again, it gives a warm tube flavor, and has the right amount of overdrive I want for subtleties. I've never played through anything Ampeg or modeled off one, but I can understand the hype if this is a representation of it.

I haven't played with an LU yet, but I from what others have said LU and PA are very similar, so I'd imagine you'll keep one or the other, and then getting a Slampegg :D

Def a pedal I’m interested in as well. I have a SH utility knife and really like it, but this would jam even more fun into the box. Excited to hear the clips but I’m thinking:

chorus
Tremolo
Flanger
Octave
Phaser
One of the verbs
One of the delays
ARP maybe? Or another delay or verb

@Btbp @letsgethandsome Here's round 1 of Demos. Everything but 2, Arpeggio & Modulated Delay. Arpeggio needs it's own simplier loop, and MD sounded wrong to me, I'm thinking somehow I recorded a Flanger instead to that file.
First track is the demo loop I fed through it.
All the other tracks are labeled of what effect they were. The mix knob is ~65%, so favoriting the effect sound coming through. Through the demo, I play with all 3 of the control knobs (@Sushi Box FX is working on remembering what knobs did what to get that to me). So you will hear some pretty gnarly stuff because really, you'd normally not be messing with knobs while playing that much; changing delay parameters while playing creates some fun artifacts of the delay length/timing changing, and obviously pitch effects arn't in-key across the whole sweep :) (and once or twice I overdrove my input and it got gritty, I'll be rerecording those too. Bought a whole new input device just for this so still getting the hang of it)
