The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

There is no benefit to running UA or any of my tube pedals (except maybe Deep Dish and possibly Lab Rat X) at 12V as opposed to 9V, so I'm not sure I understand the point of the adapter. The high voltage supply provides a regulated voltage regardless of input, the only thing that sees the input voltage directly is the tube heater, and heating at 12V has no difference in sound compared to heating at 9V.
Ok thanks. I thought there might be more headroom at a higher voltage. Never mind then

Important September update:

September hasn't sold out yet, but we're in the process of changing web hosts, so rather than mess with handling orders for one month on two platforms I'm going to be shutting down September orders early, and October orders onward will be handled on the new web host. The web address will still be the same (once we get it moved over), but everything will just be a lot better. @Sonicblaze did an amazing job of taking my dumpster fire and turning it into a functional website, and now he's doing an amazing job of turning the functional website into a better functioning, easy to navigate, user-friendly website. Navigation will be easier, ordering will be easier, everything will just be better.

So I'll leave September open for a few more hours in case anyone else wants to snag a spot, but ordering for September will be closed August 18 at 4:00PM Central Time.

New stuff update:

I finished the layout for my tube fuzz today. I have a couple things I want to order with it that aren't ready yet, but I'm hoping to have a prototype in a month or so. Working title: Sashimi Fuzz.

I have a board design for a workshop project that I need ASAP, so I went ahead and ordered Fluffy Kitten at the same time on Monday to save on shipping. So Fluffy Kitten prototype will happen waaayyyy before April 1.

I'm more or less twiddling my thumbs until my enclosure order and big redesigned circuit board order show up, so I've started figuring out how I want to implement the D.I. I still need to play with it a bit, I'm not as confident as I want to be with the fit, but I think I can make it work.

Gondwana and I got in a fight last night, we're not speaking until it apologizes. AFTER EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN THROUGH TOGETHER!!!

EDIT: completely forgot, and this is less important to bassists, but I also have a redesign of my Matchless preamp that will be ordered with the fuzz, so I'll have that one soon.

So the artist had a handful of ideas, I narrowed it down to two I liked, milled out a couple enclosures and printed both, and I powdercoated them last night so I could see what they're really going to look like.

So I'm like 95% done with the decision. There was one that I liked a little more than the other, but when I printed them it didn't pop as much as the other one, so the one I liked less on the screen I now like better on the enclosure. They both look really good, but one just translated to a metal background better, and I'll probably go with that one. I've set a deadline of tonight for myself to make a decision, and I already have a circuit board ready to go so putting the full pedal together should take all of 5 minutes, and I should be able to have a final reveal tonight.

tl;dr - FINAL REVEAL, 9PM CENTRAL TIME TONIGHT.

Really excited about some of the redesigns! Sounds like some well thought-out adjustments. May have to finally get a Slampeg! And a tube fuzz -- super intrigued by that one. Gondwana, well, I hope you two can sort it out.

Ohhhhhhh -- Got something VERY special in the mailbox today. 007 pictures coming later :) !!

Awesomeness. I must say it sounds as good as it looks as well :-)

I really like the idea of naming pedals with different sushi terms. Wakame is a type of seaweed used in sushi that has little fuzz on it so that could be a cool name.

Yeah I don't plan on doing a whole line of sushi themed names (though it has been suggested several times), but I thought it would be somewhat fitting here. Sashimi came to mind since it's raw, and this fuzz should have a pretty raw sound.

Pffft. I’ll I heard was tube fuzz when can I get one of those?? :hyper:
Fine dammit, let me finish one more design (yes @bass player 53 , that one) and I'll order prototypes this weekend.

My big circuit board order just shipped today, so I should probably keep at least two pending orders in their system at all times.

Super secret sect preview since Sushi already spilled the beans :D Pedal categories, preorder counters in the header, nice friendly mobile site, easier ordering direct from pedal pages, straight-forward visible pricing, standardized pedal details location/fields:
