I did an excellent job removing every trace of the print and re-did the powdercoat. But as usual I was doing a dozen things at the same time and made stupid mistake #2. Slow down folks, multitasking kills.

Hey folks - I get that the Slampegg is aimed at copping the B15 vibe, but can it also do modern tones as well.
If I'm not mistaken the EQ is based on a James, which could do a mid scoop?
I have a chance to pick up an older Slampegg Bee Pre and would like to know what to expect.
Also keen to know how much drive they can get.

For modern tones you might prefer something with active bands and a variable mid otoh the Slampegg Bee has tone that should fit any style with as much grunt or presence as moistened need. There is a good amount of clean headroom as well as plenty of grit and pleasing saturation if you push the gain.
The Baxandall tone stack is very musical, has many variations used by different amp makers and others. It is quite versatile for a passive circuit and generally has pleasing results even at extreme meetings. That is the reason for its popularity and longevity. How many variations? Fuzzrocious Baxstabber offers 144.

As a present, I've got a question that's been answered probably scores of times now, but the chatterboxes that we are, those answers are a hundred pages back.
I've beaten the odds and have been running my O.G. Particle Accelerator minitube at 12V, and it's been a gas.
I've also got the Slampegg Bee Pre in minitube form, and it says just 9VDC. Did we all determine that that generation COULD be run at 12V, just without real benefit (aside from power draw management)? Or is it another one that really should be run at 9V?

There are actually a matte black Sashimi and a matte black Black Eye X in this order, but I haven't printed any of the dark enclosures yet. That will either happen tonight (if I decide to work) or tomorrow (if not). I'm really excited about the rainbow's end orders this month. I need to apologize for everyone that has ordered rainbow's end in the past, because I think the finishes this month have been my best so far. A couple I'm excited to see finished:

All the single-tube mini tube pedals are supposed to be run only at 9V. Running them at 12V offers no benefit sonically as the tube will still see 200V on the plates, but it will add an extra 1.2 or so watts of heat to the regulator, which will (usually) push it to thermal shutdown. There won't be any permanent damage, you'll just need to let it cool off before you can run it again.
The dual tube pedals (SD, DW, BE) use a different kind of regulator for the tube heaters, so they can run at 12V without a problem.
Also wondering, what does Sushi Box do for a birthday? Seems like actual sushi is too obvious.

As cosmopolitan as the Chicago area is - I still suspect that a Mongolian BBQ joint is not that easy to find But happy birthday just the same to the Senor . Once you have kids - birthdays become their chances for self expression by gift choice - so often that aspect can be very rewarding .... Kelly
I had Indian for lunch, butter chicken is one of my favorite eat-until-my-gut-is-about-to-pop foods. For dinner we're going to a smokehouse, with the weather turning chilly I haven't had a chance to run the smoker for a bit. It will get cleaned off for thanksgiving though, I smoked a turkey last year and it turned out excellent.
Kudos for paying attention and remembering
I lived in Mongolia for more than twice as long as I've lived in Chicago and it's still a big part of my life, being married to a Mongolian and all. And while there are a couple Mongolian BBQ places in Mongolia (pretty much the same as the ones here but horse meat is on the menu as well) Mongolian BBQ is not actually Mongolian food. Traditional Mongolian food is much less exciting.
I make fried chicken for Thanksgiving. Word has gotten out and now all my neighbors ask me to make extra. 2 days soaking in buttermilk and hot sauce is exactly what any hen aspires to.
I would hope Chicago would have a vibrant community, there are several genuine Mongolian restaurants not too far from my abode here in Central Texas that are quite good. I regret that Mongolia was a part of the World I was not able to see when touring due to politics I would have loved to have experienced the people, food, music and culture.
