The more time I spend with my smoke Signal the more I'm falling in love with it. I've got the blue channel set for always on and it plays so nicely with my other pedals. And I've found a very filthy tone from the red that I freaking love that just gets me pumped up and shredding anytime I kick it in.
" Well we all will be looking forward to hearing the demo when it does get done for sure . I think though that 30 to 50 watts power output may not be enough . The main complaint I’ve seen about Traynor’s new 100 watt tube head has been lack of gigable volume for some users so anything less is really getting into a studio use only realm . That’s not a bad thing per se but also not likely to be a game changer either sadly .It would be great though if it had some form of headphone capacity if it is to be low powered . I promise not to hold my breath nor bring it up again either ! LOL …. Now back to your regular programming … Kelly

...yes... lol - got pushed to a "gear" folder, it shows created. Ive gotten about 200 emails in the past week with all kinds of subject, thought it would go to my primary..
Just for fun I decided to throw together a shopping cart for a 100W quad 6L6 power amp to see how doable it would be. $600 in parts alone, not even accounting for my labor and design time. The bulk of that is transformers, so even if I were to try to cut cost with things like generic brand caps instead of name-brands it would only save a couple bucks. So to do a standalone power amp the right way it would easily end up being $1k or more, which aside from drifting away from my "high-quality but still affordable" thing would also make it hard to compete with things like the Fryette power station at $799.
Well, the PS100 is closer to 900, and even though techincally there is a preamp in the the PS2/100, what you would add would be more so of one. If you do make one, definitly make it so you can loop it's power back into itself. Many would look at this and think you're crazy, but they have some switch that protects with a route from Line IN to the line level output AND balances line out. Fryette didn't even know it did that at first until someone accidentally plugged it in "wrong"..
That's #3 project on my list for the break, right after my B-15N build and Greenhouse.
So right after I ordered the Greenhouse boards I had an idea of how I wish I had done it better, so unless the existing boards are amazing I'm going to make a change. But the main point of Greenhouse is to be a tube FX loop. So you'll get a tube input stage to tubify your tone, then it will go into whatever pedal you have in the loop, then back into Greenhouse where it goes through another tube stage then to the output. I think it had a clean blend in it too, didn't it? Been a while, don't really remember
