The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Here's a question. I've already got a Lightning Boy TI Box DI. Which Sushi Box pedal, when combined with the TI Box, would be closest to the Finally? A Westinghouse?

IOW, I could get another SB pedal and combine it with the TI Box to replicate the Finally. Makes sense??

I like the tube character that the Westinghouse imparts, but I think you'd be better off with a Space Heater. It and the Finally both use a 12AX7.

Finally is just a Space Heater with the Lightning Boy transformer, so Space Heater + TI would get you there.

In response to the earlier questions about the Fluffy Kitten tone stack, the circuit was originally voiced for guitar. I'll take a look at the schematic next time I'm at the computer to see what could help the bass response whithout getting it too muddy for guitar.

i just did a quick shootout with two great SVT type pedals:

Two SVT pedals.jpg

IMO, they both pretty much nail the SVT tone. The SBVT has more tube feel, since it IS actually tubes, but the S300's mid control sounds more like an SVT's and has more boost & cut since it's inductor based (like the real amp). i love them both.

I am fully aware that this is talk bass, but the smoke signal actually works better on guitar than my OG Meatsmoke. I will assume that added touch of brightness is giving it a little more cut?

Most likely the added brightness is cutting through more, and I like the Smoke Signal more than my OG Meatsmoke that I sent in to Nathan to be reverse engineered. I've let a few friends borrow the SS, and they've all been impressed with it

Quick heads up, I'm planning to open ordering for the January batch today, I will of course let everyone here know as soon as it's open. Since the in-stock shop isn't set up yet, if anyone orders the same finish of a pedal that is in stock, I will fill their order from the stock on hand so it will ship in December instead of January. So far things I know I either have in stock or will have in stock:
  • JC Emerald (2), both full color
  • SBVT, full color
  • Space Heater (2), both full color
  • Echosaurus (5), full color
  • Vampire Slayer (2), full color
  • Sashimi Fuzz (5), full color
LEDs and knobs can be swapped to get whatever you order so it doesn't matter what (if anything) is on there now.

I'm not very good at taking breaks.

So it turns out I forgot how to open ordering by myself and will be needing help :P @Sonicblaze is working on getting the store set up so we can have in-stock run separately from custom batches without breaking anything, so January batch ordering will be postponed until Wednesday night-ish.

Well, if you ask, limited/special edition space heater with the point to point thingy would be nice, I would buy it as a kit and solder myself if you don't want to solder this...

This is the pedal I've been hinting about in all my stupid posts that nobody responds too. How badly do I want it? Well, you could just send me the parts and a schematic, and I'll solder that sucker myself. Color? I don't care what it looks like.

My Fluffy Kitten is officially in Canada and making it's way west from Ontario.

My SS is already in Germany. They were quite quick this time and if I interpret the USPS tracking (which gets a bit wonky once you leave US soil) right, it went on another flight from Frankfurt which means it touched down either in Hamburg or in another small airport in the north, which might mean the time spent in customs will be shorter.

And here I was thinking everyone had forgotten. There will be 19 of these (obviously one for me as well), all enclosures have been milled and power supplies have been soldered on, and I've selected the wood for the faceplates. I still need to powdercoat, engrave faceplates, and do the turrets and audio portion. Look for them closer to Christmas.
