Anyway, Mr. Box posted a pic of this a week ago. True story, about the order number.
The Black Eye is already getting a workout on my guitar. It's awesome. I think my 2 favorite things about it are the tone control swings from down in the dregs to high chime, I am usually pretty happy when my guitar's neck pickup is a little dirty but also a little sparkly. This is thick as a brick on lead styles.

Like the Sashimi too. It's really in a good spot for me. It reminds me a little of my Bray. It's in that bluesy range, a gainy, classic fuzz, not in the velcro range at all. It gets dirty but it's not grinding bricks. I really dig it and will screw with it on bass later today. Got the postal notice so I guess I'm done pretending to work for the next couple hours!

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on the Sashimi for bass.
I already want a Black Eye for my guitar rig.

well, the USPS still says my SBVT is supposed to be delivered today, but i already got the mail and it wasn't there so i'm hoping for tomorrow .

I'm in the same boat... supposed to deliver today but just left Atlanta over an hour north of me at 5pm. It's 612pm now.

Black Eye is just a great smooth distortion. Get it. I got it for guitar. I'll try it with bass but unless it is otherworldly I really don't need it with bass.

I just spent about 15 minutes with Sashimi direct from an active 5 to my Mesa, uncomplicated chain. I have to say I am impressed so far. Because A) the gain is useful and transitions smoothly from not much to that rich classic DA style. I was pleased that I did not lose anything on low B-G notes and was able to instantly dial in that olde school Sabbath-esque grind. One thing I noticed is I had to open the volume master on the pedal higher to get to unity than I had it for a standard Tele but that's not important. I really so far like this more than most of the DA FF styles I have for the simple reason the bottom couple strings sound good like they should. Lordy knows how many fuzz face circuits I have that don't pass the low end. I like this. Get one. I know you probably like the dirt as much as I do. Sashimi is tasteful, smooth. It's not a soul destroyer fuzz. I'll spend more time with it. But I'd say the demos online are pretty much what I'm getting. It's medium gain that works on bass.

Oh, and for guitar, I am still 100% digging the Ambassador too.

I have my soul-destroying fuzz needs covered, but a nice versatile medium gain fuzz that works good on bass and guitar would be great to have around.

Dallas Arbiter, ye olde Fuzz Face originator. I'm not saying it's a Fuzz Face but it's in that vein of lower-medium germanium sound. My take is it would work for "Texas Blues" really well, I'd say it probably does not djent. Does that make sense? I really like it. I don't need any more Blackhawk Amplifiers fuzzes anyway, got it covered.

Edited to say it's not clippy, not gated. Good flow.

And best I can tell, pretty low noise floor. Well done, Box.
And paging @Sushi Box FX just to make sure I'm not slandering haha. I like it.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed because of the volume of posts in this thread but how do you swap the tube in these small pedals? I have a space heater that I would like to put a 12AU7 in but just don't have the "wiggle room" literally. Hopefully I don't need to take the whole thing apart first. Has anyone here swapped tubes in a space heater?

I went through that recently with an Underground Accelerator. Best tip that I got was to use duct tape. Take a piece about 6 inches long, fold it in half lengthwise with the adhesive facing in, and stick it to itself (no adhesive part showing. It makes a strap thats about an inch wide - slide that around the tube and loop it, use the tape with gentle upward pressure and wiggle it out. Works great!

@Killing Floor you are killing me talking about the Sashimi Fuzz that has been tempting me already. I have a serious warm spot and emotional connection to both the DA FF and the AusTone FuzzNutz and the FuzzNutz TexTone. If you are familiar with those pedals do you have a comparison?

Fluffy Kitten is very fuzzy. Pretty frickin sweet!

I think this has been asked before, but what's the tone stack on Fluffy? That presence, or should I say, meow, is really nice.

Tone stack is Fender style, it's all post gain.

Super interested to hear from the new and soon to be smoke signal owners! Got my eye on one of these….

They are indeed user friendly, they control bias for each of the 4 gainstages. I have recorded the "stock" voltages that I set then at when I ship them, one of these days I'll write up a basic guide on how to measure and adjust them. You can adjust them by ear, and while there are settings that will choke the sound, there are no settings that will damage the pedal.

I keep meaning to get a video made of how I swap tubes, I have a technique that works pretty well. I'll add that to my list of things to add to the website during my break.

my SBVT just arrived and it's frickin' great. the only thing that's a little confusing is that the ultra lo is engaged when it's up and the ultra hi is engaged when it's down. IMO, one of them should be reversed. other than that, it's perfect.
