Stop. Just stop.
Ha! Sorry.

I was thinking about getting rid of JC Emerald because it hasn't been as popular as similar circuits like Dr. Wattson. Maybe I should keep it around a little longer?
Trying to tell the bass folks about it. It’s really got a lot of range. I can’t compare it to Sunday or Watson which was don’t have but maybe you can. I think if I only had one of your kicker boxes that would be it for bass and guitar.

I’m not sure I need a slot. Does that get me locked out of the thread?
I do have a January Echosaurus.

Hey, did I pick a decent color or do we need to change anything? I honestly can’t remember.
I think you went with matte black, I'll have to double check. The Echosauruses for January will be matte black, white full color, and raw/simple.

Think I'm saving my sheckles for an HWUA and maybe an HWDeepDish if it gets un-archived... and maybe a couple of HW Finally for sound company use.
HW Deep Dish would be BIG. Although if I left the sidechain as SMD and just did the audio signal path as handwired then I would be able to fit it in a smoke signal sized box. It's pretty jam-packed as it is in the current enclosure, no way I would be able to get it HW in there.

I’m kinda wondering if that one would sound too similar to the DWX to justify having both…. @Sushi Box FX ?
They're not as similar as Sunnday Drive and JC Emerald (you could literally swap components and build the main circuit of one on the other's board). They have a similar gain level, but I wouldn't say they're similar enough to be redundant.

Yeah Space Heater or Finally should be similar.

So. . .
My current setup is compression first, then UA. It is set to that sweet spot where the lows are very clean, but the highest notes sing a bit with overtones. If I was to put a SH in front of that with the gain at a high setting, would I achieve something that sounds like the UA on a higher gain setting?

I would think so, yup. Basically your UA would be pretending it's an amp and SH would be like putting a boost in front of your amp. UA's settings will determine the overall output volume, but SH can push the input stage into heavier clipping.

You should keep it in the queue. I think it's a quintessential preamp to offer in the grand scheme of things.
I'm working my way through a pedal-buying priority list right now, but I wouldn't mind having a JCE on hand some day.
