If you are running them one into the other, try separating them with another pedal or buffer and see if that helps.

I was running 2 Sushi pedals one right after the other and no power supply I bought or had liked it, even using 2 separate one spots. Separating them with a comp in my case solved my issue. (Issue was noise and squeals)

I'll give that a shot. I'm not having any squeals or noise problems, just oddly low output.

I also have a Strymon Zuma, and it had no problem powering 5 SB pedals (2 of the pedal being the twin tube models). There's still a chance it could be the Strymon, but double check you don't have any bad cables and make sure they're inserted properly. IIRC, you can always use the 12V outs on the Zuma on the SB pedals.

There are a few reasons:
  1. In my A/B testing I found that I prefer the sound of the Lightning Boy Audio transformers. They have the same range as the Jensen but feel a little more "full", hard to explain it beyond that
  2. Jensen has raised their prices and made it harder for small manufacturers to keep up. In order to get the same pricing per transformer I used to get, I now need to order qty 50 or more at a time.
  3. @lightningboy is a lot cooler to deal with. Supporting fellow small businesses in general is cool, but it's especially cool when the small business is extremely responsive any time I need anything. I don't know if I'm just not big enough to be a priority, but Jensen has been slow to respond most of the time.
Jensen has been the gold standard in quality D.I. for a long time, but Lightning Boy has been gaining ground since coming on the scene, and I think his transformers sound better.

500mA @ 9V should be enough for pretty well anything (though a bit low for Wrecking Ball), though the dual tube models may take an extra minute or so to warm up. Have you tried the pedals individually (i.e. nothing else in the chain) to see what the output level is like? Have you ruled out other variables like patch cables?

A related anecdote: last night I picked the new "production" HWSH design back up to see if I could figure out why it wasn't working. When I test pedals I usually use a looper with a riff stored on it, and I go looper -> patch cable -> pedal being tested -> patch cable -> amp so I don't have to deal with 20' of extra cable lying around. Well I had a bad patch cable and didn't realize it. Plugged my bass straight into it last night and it was fine, sounded beautiful.

IME, I do think that you will get more volume if you push your SB pedals with more juice. I know that others have had good luck at 9V 500 mA, but at least for me, I noticed a lot more output at 12V 1600 mA. YMMV, though.

Well the amount of juice the supply can provide doesn't change how much current they pull, the power used from a 500000000mA supply will be the same amount used out of a 1600mA supply, but if you're close to the line of how much they want, they have trouble heating up enough to pass signal and you will see a severe drop in output.

Mmkay, crisis averted. I paid a little more and got the stereo version of the jacks I usually use. Not sure why my 3AM brain didn't think of that.

Everything shifted a little because it's in a smaller box than it used to be, so the label is up top to accomodate the top mounted jacks, the previous board was designed for side mount jacks. The toggle switches are low profile so they're actually hard to hit with your foot unless you're trying to do it (in my experience anyway).
