I have the new boards in, if this circuit works then it's the one I will he using in the HW SS so it's in my best interest to get it verified soon so I can fill the HW SS orders for May. I promise it will happen soon, but I have to finish April out first.

Is there a rainbow's HW Lab Rat? Can't tell on this screen.

Also, we probably need to talk if you've got a sec.
My Black Eye was order #666 and my HWLR is order #999. This seems like more than a post punk coincidence.
Discuss.
If I remember right there were 4 rainbow's end Lab Rats this month, the ones in this picture are just raw and white finishes as those are the only two that get clearcoats.

Also that seems like more than a coincidence, but I assure you nobody messes with order numbers and that is in fact a post punk coincidence.

@Sushi Box FX I absolutely understand and support your decision, my remarks were in no way meant to be taken in a negative or critical way. It just me being Charlie Brown.

FYI my most often used nicknames in bands were these characters.
My family is for always giving me Charlie Brown stuff.

Well I'm not sure I'm going to make it. The CNC going down, the business trip, and jury duty all put me behind schedule and it doesn't look like I'm going to finish by the end of the month. I still expect to only be a couple days into May to finish, and I will be working as much as I can to get everything finished as quickly as possible without killing myself and without rushing builds.

@Sushi Box FX I haven’t placed any orders with you yet, but may I say that the way you conduct your business, the obviously highly respectable quality of product and the conscientious manner in which you take time to keep your customers informed all do you tremendous credit.

It’s great to see someone running a business this way these days; well done, sir. You can expect an order from me here in England at some point, for sure.

Thanks for the kind words, I really do appreciate it. I'm not much of a businessman, but I definitely try to err on the side of too much communication rather than risk not having enough. I've had people in industry tell me that I'm "too available" and it's not sustainable on a larger scale operation, so I guess I'm just going to stay as a small-scale operation. Building pedals doesn't pay my bills or put food on the table, so I can run the business however I want.

And on that note I'm going to bed. All HWSH and HWLR for the month have been assembled and are ready for testing, I'll keep everyone posted on progress tomorrow.

100% with you (except I have one now)

I forget. Is there anything adjustable internally on a HW Space Heater?

I'm using it in conjunction with a PJB Bighead HA-1 to beef up the sound coming through the headphones.

But this combo is very volume sensitive -- turning the volume up/down too quickly introduces some unwanted scratchiness that just about tears my ears off.

UH-OH; I just ordered HW Space Heater [May Batch] to use with my PJB HA-1 and Audio Technica ATH-M50X Headphones.

Nathan should I cancel vs try and return? I like my ears on my head:)

On the Special Edition (wood panel) HW Space Heater there is not. There is a level-dropping resistor on the bottom side of the board tacked onto the master volume pot and modifying the value of that resistor can manage the overall output volume, but alas this is not very easy or convenient to do. If anyone is interested in trying I would be happy to give you instructions and walk you through doing it.

The newer HW Space Heaters (April 2022 and onward) have an internal trimpot to set the max output level, so you can easily set it anywhere you want to avoid sonically induced removal of your ears.

Super quick updates about some stuff before I head back to the workbench and continue ignoring my computer:

April batch: Still chugging along. Without killing myself I'm managing finishing assembly on 10 pedals per day. At that rate I hope to be able to get everything finished up Monday night and start testing Tuesday, so you should start seeing shipping notices around the middle of the week. I know I'm still within the 10-day period I give myself each month, but I still try every month to finish before the end of the month, so I still want to apologize for the delay.

Previous Batch Upgrades: The April batch includes some orders from previous months that opted to have their order held until handwired builds were available. Most of these have not been invoiced for the balance of the handwired version, and I plan to go through the list and start sending invoices tomorrow. So if I was holding a previous month's order for you in order to upgrade to handwire, expect to see an email from me sometime Monday.

May batch: Now that the CNC controller has been gutted and upgraded I don't expect any issues that would cause a delay in the May batch. My family is planning a short (~4 day) road trip at the end of the month, and I will be trying to finish everything before then. I will of course keep everyone posted as the May batch progresses.

Tubes and June Batch: When I placed my most recent tube order, half of the order (50 tubes) was backordered and was expected to ship in late April. It has not shipped and I have not heard anything from the supplier. I sent an email yesterday, I'm hoping they get back to me tomorrow so I can find out what to expect. I have a good number of tubes on hand and I know there won't be an issue with the April batch, I'll have to do a count to confirm but I don't expect an issue with the May batch either. I am confident that I do not have enough tubes on hand right now for a June batch. As such I will not be opening ordering until I know what's going on with tubes. If tubes will not be available in time I may accept orders as normal for non-tube pedals (Fluffy Kitten, Echosaurus) and orders for pedals with no tubes included, or I may take the month off. I expect to make that decision within the next week.
