Ah sorry, I did miss that one.

UA w/tonestack bypassed is identical to Finally's 1/4" output, both of which are identical to Space Heater. More is different as it has two tubes but really only 1 stage of gain. So UA and Finally can both get into overdrive territory, which is why they have Gain and Volume controls, but More can't overdrive by itself, which is why it only has the one knob. So if you're just looking for clean fat tubey goodness, More is going to be the simplest way to do it as there isn't even the possibility of it overdriving unless it's being pushed hard on the input.

Very good. So if UA or Finally is set at low gain for no overdrive, they will essentially sound the same as More and Space Heater? I guess what I'm saying is...why would one choose More over UA/tonestack bypass?

Nothing will ever sound quite like More, except Deep Dish with the compression settings super low. So I mentioned that More only has 1 gain stage, but it has 2 tubes, which means a potential for 4 gain stages! So what are the other stages in More doing?

The 12AU7 is V1 in More, that's where your signal will go first. 12AU7 has 2 stages available, but More runs them in parallel, so you effectively only have one gainstage. Running tube stages in parallel gives it a fat, warm sound that you can't really get with a single stage.

The 12AT7 is V2 in More, and it's set up not as a gainstage, but as an output buffer. 12AT7 also has 2 stages available, but again the stages are run in parallel for a fat warm sound, but in a buffer configuration this gives the added benefit of a lower overall output impedance.

You can probably get close to that sound with UA, Finally, or SH if you keep the gain way down or use a 12AU7 in place of the 12AX7, but you won't get all the way there, and also More is one of the very few pedals I make with an output buffer.

Just finished listing all the in-stock pedals on the website, I'll probably open up September ordering later tonight. So if you're in the market for a UA, HW Slampegg, Finally, or HWDW, this would be a good time to head over to the website for some stuff.

The sonic character improvement of the MORE is subtle enough that in most situations it might not be easily evident especially live. In my recording setup through my reference monitors or headphones there is a bit of added dimension and clarity afforded by the uber-clean parallel tube stages. To my ear it is very much like a studio tube Mic preamp than a guitar amp gain stage which all of the other @Sushi Box FX pedals are based on.* If your needs are for a super clean preamp with depth then the MORE may be a great choice, many of my clients want crispy clean bass parts and the MORE gives me that.

The Finally is still plenty clean & rich plus has the ability for saturation for more vintage and modern tones.

* There is a common practice in many studios to record bass using vintage studio gear from Mic pre amps, compressors and EQs to utilize the qualities of the input, output circuitry and stages that often include parallel gain and buffer stages as well as transformers even if the effect is bypassed as @Sushi Box FX has done with the MORE. Thanks to @Sushi Box FX we have that in a 9v powered pedal board friendly form.

Ugh, the code I wrote to make the "required" fields not-required for prebuilt pedals is being dumb after the latest round of software updates. Working on it and getting vendors involved, that's always a good time :meh:

In the mean time the workaround is what is mentioned above: Select the prebuilt pedal, then change that field back to <anything else> pick random values, select the prebuilt pedal again, and add to cart.
