The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

If the goal is just to add some clean fat tubey goodness to the chain, what is the best choice?
UA w/tone bypassed
More
Finally
Other than the obvious (like the finally having DI) how do those differ?
Yeah, I've really been wanting to hear what people think when directly comparing the More to the Space Heater/bypassed UA/Finally (all three are the same voice).

Yeah, I'll get one. I still don't see how that'd be it. With a 500 mA adapter, wouldn't it just be slower warming up, and be Ok drawing 450ma from there?
You are correct, a 500mah adapter would be fine, just slower to warm up. While it could be a power supply issue, I doubt its a mah-level issue (just maybe a bad supply itself).

I am sure Sushi will confirm/deny, but I believe this was asked before and the answer was no. Seems like that then turned into a conversation recommending the Lightning Boy 2020s (which I highly recommend) if you want transformer to impact your 1/4” signal chain.

okay. thanks!

Very true. I've been keeping the Smoke Signal name despite changing the circuit mostly because I like the name and coming up with a solid catchy name is tricky. But I'll ask for suggestions when I figure out what's going to be inside it.

Smoked Sushi?

 :woot:

hmm. it's seems that the lightning boy 2020S's aren't available at the moment.

just wondering if the finally's 1/4" output also use the transformer?

Yup, correct. Finally uses the Lightning Boy MC15 transformer for impedance matching/line balancing and is only for the XLR output, 1/4" output is either dry passthrough or straight preamp out with no transformer.

So I was planning to open the September batch tonight, then I remembered I still have a bunch of in-stock pedals that I need to list. So I think what I'll do is post the in-stock pedals in the classifieds here and open up the September batch as normal.

EDIT: I'm still in the process of taking pictures so I don't have the listing posted yet, but if anyone here wants to call dibs on anything in the next hour or so, speak now. All prices are shipped to continental US, shipping can be determined for anywhere else.

EDIT AGAIN: Looks like as a commercial user I can't post these on the classifieds here, so I'll get them posted up on the website. I'll still gets pics of them posted up here so people can see the exact units that are for sale.

Just as a heads up, I don't think you're allowed to post in the classifieds as a commercial user.

I just read through the rules for the classifieds and you're absolutely right, so I guess they're not going on the classifieds and I'll get them listed on the website. Thanks for the heads up!

Just one person's opinion, but my ideal Smoke Signal would be a UA clean channel (maybe even with a tone stack bypass but that is not necessary) and a DW dirt channel. You get two very distinct and different tone stacks/voicings, but that is without hearing the Elementary, I'm assuming the voicing of the Elementary is the same as DW just lower gain and maybe that is not the case.

Hey @Sushi Box FX you may have missed this one :)

Something I've been wondering since the introduction of the UA with tone stack bypass.

If the goal is just to add some clean fat tubey goodness to the chain, what is the best choice to feed other pedals into?
