Ahh. That had crossed my mind but then the logical part of my cranium said "Nope -- red is hot and black is not."

Yup, that gets a whoops from me. The vast majority of Sushi Box work has been done by me, and I always do it the same way every time. But occasionally my wife comes down to help with soldering, and there was a brief period when I employed my niece as well. I distinctly remember having the conversation with one of them (can't remember which) where I said it doesn't matter which color power wire goes where because the pedal will work with either polarity. So that's obviously on me.Got all my Sushi Box pedals modified to the Polarity Protection Fix!
One casualty. My Underground Accelerator is non-functioning.
Attached is a gut shot. I based the changed wire connection on the Early X-Series Pedal. Perhaps the wire connection should be based on another pedal?
I'll get in and make a note of that in the document, you need to look at wire position, not wire color. Try switching the wires like @Sonicblaze mentioned and let me know how it goes, the pedal wouldn't be damaged when it's wired like that, it just won't work.
Thanks again for all the great advice. I think I found a sweet spot with these recommendations, and having the two stacked at the end is exactly what was needed. So far I’ve only tested in my studio with cans, but I’m hoping to try it with the full rig this weekend. Wow!!
My SH rocked up on Monday (typically i've been away with work until this evening so only just unwrapped her. Had a quick play and obvs the first thing i did was crank it right up & OMG there is helluva lot of gain on tap!
Gonna experiment over the weekend as the other half has her Uni deadlines and all assigmnets must be done by Sunday evening so it gives me a free weekend!
It didn't get stung for any import duty either which i had factored into my costs o my next Sushi box fund is already building up!

All enclosures are milled-powdercoated-printed, working through circuit boards right now, then final assembly and testing. Depending on how much I can get done in the next couple days I may be able to start shipping as soon as monday, but I can't promise anything at this point.
Well it looks like it's about time to think about opening November ordering. Anybody want some pedals?

Lol you must have jumped onto it while I was still in the process of opening. Refresh and try again. I just barely finished opening it and I have to go through the models one at a time, UA is last alphabetically so you just got there before me.

My CIOKS DC10 only has 1 output that does more than 400ma, any issue if I run this on an output at 400ma at 12v? I have Dr. W in the one that goes up to 800ma.

Yes, the plan is to have SBVT II, Glass Butterfly, and Echosaurus Valve up for the November batch. I'm pretty sure they're good to go, but I've been bitten by "pretty sure" in the past so I'm taking more time for testing.
A dual tube pedal on a 400mA 12V output makes me nervous, I'm not super confident that would be enough to get it going.

Question though -- do you plan to offer HW on the BEII? Also, any updates on that none more black option? May hold out for either/both of those options
I would like to do HW Black Eye II but it's not an immediate priority, so if it does happen it will be a ways down the road. It took more work than I expected to get Black Eye II to the place where I wanted it to be both sound-wise and stability-wise, and a handwired version will be the same thing but more work. Maybe sometime next year, definitely not soon.
I guess I can follow up on BLK 3.0. I have a mis-drilled scrap enclosure I've been testing it on. I gave it a solid coat of primer and cured the primer in the oven to make sure it was ready, doing everything by the book. I don't have a paint sprayer anymore so I brushed the BLK 3.0 on, and he recommends using a blowdryer to help it cure, but I just threw it in the curing oven as well and all the brush marks flattened out and became invisible, which was neat. The finish is very matte and very flat.
Now as for the color itself, I'm underwhelmed. It looks like a matte black, and it's definitely more matte than any matte black I've seen, but the actual color itself looks less black than my current matte black powder coat. So I don't know if I just need to add more coats, but I'm not really impressed. Also as a result of the matte-ness it has a noticeably textured feel to the finish that I don't like, feels kind of like 2000 grit sandpaper. Also as an acrylic paint it's not particularly durable, so even with a solid primer coat under it I can still scratch the paint completely off with a fingernail.
I have no plans to offer BLK 3.0 as a finish option for pedals at any time in the future.

....Nov...another month when I don't need another pedal.....and another month I'm unlikely to resist another S-Box, while caving to the excuse that it's my birthday month.... and hoping glass butterfly will be open for orders soon (but NOT wanting to rush the QC/ vetting process)....
I can get sound samples tonight for bass, which is what you care about anyway, but I'm between guitars at the moment so I won't be able to get those for a bit.

Description is easy enough, it's a medium-high gain dirt pedal, never gets fully clean. The original Soldano unit was designed for guitar, but the baxandall tonestack and the bass boost switch help open up the low end to make it work better on bass. The bass boost doesn't automatically rumble the neighborhood like you may expect of a bass boost, it just opens up the frequency response to match the UA on the low end. On the upper strings of a guitar you barely hear a difference with the bass boost on, but on lower strings of guitar and certainly on bass you can feel the difference.
