The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Some of his designs and the led color may attract the recipient and it’s on the coffee table…

It did eventually show up — mail carrier came and fixed the issue. I’m a little bummed it’s got multiple notable blemishes in the powder coat, though…

I reveived about a dozen emails and half a dozen PMs today, but I am on vacation without my computer so it's going to take me longer than usual to reply to things. I will try to get all emails and messages addressed in the next day or two. I promise I'm not ignoring anyone, just super busy day and super tired. I apologize for the inconvenience.

For something like this, where the piece is hand done, I treat it like the different patterns in a piece of wood, as evidence of being handmade. I didn’t look critically at mine, when it arrived.

Black Eye II arrived! This is a wonderfully brutal pedal on bass, very nice sounding distortion. I just received an Origin Effects M-EQ Drive today too, and I'm really enjoying running the M-EQ into the Black Eye, then out to the Origin Super Vintage. And it looks great too!

Also, thank you @Sushi Box FX for adding DHL as an option, this arrived much faster then previous orders.

Simple question - why do some of the new Finally's have the "Lightning Boy Equipped" sticker and some do not?

They all use LBA transformers now, more a matter of did someone request the sticker to not be put on. I requested my sparkly finally to NOT have the sticker on it, I think he defaulted to sticker-in-the-box for this finish so end-user could put it on or not:

@jaibeau Dreamcatcher I think is what TP may have been referring 2. As I understand it, an Underground Accellerator and something new in a 2 channel switching pedal. The new channel having more gain on tap.

I'm hoping that one side or the other - or both included the tone stack defeat switch. If only one side, for me it would be the Fender on full time amd the gain side switchable. That would allow me (or you) to gain balance between a Fender RCA like tone stack and something fully transparent. That could really be something!

@Sushi Box FX any thoughts about the above ?
I don't currently have tonestack bypass switches on Dreamcatcher, but I could probably get them in there. I'll have to see how useful they are on each channel.

@Sushi Box FX
Can't remember if this was asked before.

If you bypassed the EQ on the Elementary, would you get the same response as a Space Heater?
Or are the gain stages different enough to yield a different result?
Results will be a little different, Elementary's gain stages are set up a little different than Space Heater. The first stage on Elementary has a little more gain so it will drive harder.

I think I saw an email from you, which is on my to-reply list today. Either way, powdercoat finishes are applied by me in my garage so they usually aren't perfect and I applogize for any finish defects. Customer satisfaction is a big thing for me, so I would love an opportunity to make it right for you, whether that means refinishing the pedal, taking it back in trade for a different pedal (again assuming that was your email) or a partial refund/future discount.

So regarding the use of something like the Finally. How does one figure how to set it? , since its very rare for me to even hear how the FOH sounds during a soundcheck etc...
I only use mine as a DI box to the front of house so I use the XLR out into a mixer at home into my in ears so you can hear what and when it does what it does from that output. It is a bit different than the phone out.
Set just before break up, or a bit when plucked hard.

I took the sticker off my Finally, it was huge compared to the Sushi Box logo making it look more as a Lightning Boy product than a Sushi Box.

Since it is not on a board but in the gigbag pouch of a Gigblade 2 the sticker was gonna wear down by my finger rubbing it eventually anyway.

Also put feet on it since it is not on a pedal board but on a table, cab or most of the time on the floor.

Super weird thing I thought I'd post in case anyone here has some ideas... I'm loving my UA so far, but noticed some really odd interactions when it's in front of certain other pedals - so wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or have some issue with power supplies, etc.

E.g. running:
Tuner -> compressor -> UA -> amp: sounds perfect
Tuner -> compressor -> UA -> HX Stomp -> amp: weird stuff

The weird stuff (UA set with everything at 12 o'clock, except for master set to 10 o'clock, empty patch on HX stomp):
* UA bypassed, HX stomp on: sounds fine
* UA on, HX stomp off: sounds great
* UA on, HX stomp on: completely silent, no output from HX stomp
* UA on, HX stomp on, UA's TS bypassed: broken sounds

HX stomped powered by supplied adapters, UA powered by CIOKS DC7 (via 9v 660ma output), in case it's anything power related.

I've attached a short recording of what it sounds like with both pedals engaged and the TS bypass engaged on the UA, in case that gives some hint as to what's wrong... I'm a bit stumped here...

If I swap out the HX stomp for some other pedals in front of the UA, then I get a different constant noise sound (added as the 2nd attachment) which is constant even with gain/bass/treble/mid set to zero (but it goes away when I set master to 0). Again, that goes away when I take away the pedals in front of the UA, so again stumped :)

(it also had some odd interactions with an EHX Superego+ pedal, discussed here: High pitched squeak when engaging/disengaging EH Superego+ with certain pedals in front)

I didn't find that very impressive at all ;).

Last evening I ran my switcher into UA into HX Stomp. Spectrum in efx loop A, Atlas Comp in EFX Loop B. Output of HX Stomp to More. Cioks DC7 powering everything using the Cioks current doubling cable for the HX. UA, More, Spectrum and Atlas on indiviual outlets. Lehle 3@1 switcher and 2 XDR wireless recievers on a 3 gang cord.

No wierd sounds unless I decided to play a C# under a C or something else dumb...
