I'm aware that the designs @Sushi Box FX uses are much revered but I have never really liked any Ampeg tones. It is a personal preference but understand why so many bass players and engineers do love that sound.

For the record Jaco was devoted to Acoustic, John Entwistle was devoted to Sunn and lots of players used Fender Showman and others amps instead of Ampegs as mythos wants you to believe. There are dozens of forgotten amp companied that were once big players.

Do you have a preference for pedals that do the Acoustic, Sunn and Fender tones?

@Sushi Box FX - Hey man. I know there is much talk about the possibility of a "Furthermore" pedal, and I also realise this maybe be some time away.

So bearing that in mind how hard or possible would it be to create a "Finally" with adjustable high and low pass filters (set slopes, 2 extra knobs, adjustable high and low frequency points)?

Could call it a Finally Plus ?

The preamp design I plan to use is a non-issue, I'm just worried about the LPF/HPF, so there really isn't any point in me doing a Finally with the filters added as I plan to do Furthermore as soon as I get the filter design the way I want it.

I only use an HPF and have an Always On Broughton so I am good.

I have a mini tube Particle Accelerator that nails it for me after using the @johnk_10 FET-F2B for a long time. The Underground Accelerator is a perfect evolution to my ear , my favorite tones were always the Fender Bassman / Showman.
I am looking forward to the JC Emerald 2 from @Sushi Box FX. Many players probably hope that @Sushi Box FX will revisit the Sunnday Drive one day.
I did like the DiCosimo Acoustic 360+ that he does in small batches and sells on FB and Reverb, he also does an excellent GK preamp

Caviat for me is this is for a piezo pickup on an upright bass. I have a friend built FET alembic tone stack that is also really cool but the tube based Slampegg is a total winner for the pickup side of this rig.

More time with the UA. Love the Tone Circuit bypass toggle. I use it both ways and do notice more clarity or something with the tone circuit bypassed. Raise master with tone engaged doesnt quite get the same clarity with EQ flat or otherwise imho. The Space heater setting has a little extra something. I could guess the tone circuit is coloring the sound in some way. For me, when playing with my fingers its bypassed, and I get my EQ upstream, but when playing with a pick I need that mid cut, bass treble boost I get from this fender tone stack. Flexible and works great for me.

I highly recommend the Underground Accelerator, the PA is very good but the UA offers better headroom and bandwidth for bass and expanded range of clean thru saturation, plus the update has the tone bypass option for even more flexibility. The PA is classic while the UA is neo retro or a retro rod to borrow a car term .

However if the if the @Sushi Box FX BassDude ever comes to fruition that would give the Slampegg Bee a better run for the money, IMHO for a classic.

Thank you, @bassbrad. Coming from a distant time when I played and listened to tube-based Fender, Sunn and Ampeg, I am searching for those tones without selling the "farm" for vintage gear. I am starting with Ampeg but, who knows where I will end up?

I was underwhelmed with a Fender R200 and Studio 40. So, now I have an Ampeg 20T and am getting closer. Tubes seem to be the answer. Hopefully, tube preamps will get me the rest of the way there. Time will tell...

Folks know I've had high praise for what the Dr Wattson delivers,
But the SH recently has been "it" for me.
Super simple, and gets the warmth and character, without the EQ getting in the way.
Very "pure".
It's a "feel" thing, while the tonal changes are fairly subtle.

I’m not sure HPF/LPF is that necessary on a DI personally, it’s always seemed more useful on a preamp or a mixing desk.

UA response is flat with the typical Fender 0-10-0 (or 2-10-2 according to some, use your ears). At that setting the tonestack is largely not affecting the tone, but you still have about a 20dB drop in level due to tone stack loss, which is why Space Heater feels like it has more gain.

I splurged over thanskgiving and got a minitube labrat for my guitar board to replace my rat, the price was right and I couldnt say no to tubes... YOO is this thing loud! LOL

Sounds great though, I run a green muff into it with some delay and im in saturated lead heaven. Def more compressed than a regular rat but it works really well; I just cant overdo it with the gain and vol knobs

I can back this statement up. I'm blown away with how something so simple can have such an effect.
I jammed with my SH last week for the first time and all I can say is WOW! I'm not using it for in your face overdrive. Just enough to add some meat. It was on for the whole session and will stay on for the foreseeable future.
