Hi all! Been lurking here, read over a couple hundred pages of this thread and think I'm ready to buy a
More.
Though I'm 98% sure I'm gonna buy one anyway, I'd like to read your take on my intentions with my tone.
My goal is to dupe the following tone/saturation/response direct to a PA/DAW as I cannot have my amp/cab with me right now, though I will have my pedalboard.
Thumb BO 5 > Lomenza Hyperdrive > B3K > Faye-Sing > Submarine Designer > Mesa M9/Mesa 2x10
This is what I want to sound like, and I do, and it makes me very, very happy.
So I want to get this tone (or as close to it) as possible when going direct (no amp/cab).
I have not had any luck trying to achieve this.
(I realize I'm trying to simulate my amp/cab sound, and that this is not 100% achievable without my amp/cab of choice)
I've tried A LOT of options going direct to PA/DAW, including:
Many variations of pedal board pre-amps through JDI
DI from amp
A few different amp/cab DSPs DI's
Several analog cab sim DI's
effect board > JDI
I'm on the mailing list for the next batch of
Brought RFE's and already have an
HPF on the way, and am hopeful the RFE will help.
Also on the way is an
Atomic Base Box. Though I have never been happy with DSP'ing amp/cab responses, I still gotta try one more time...
I refuse to replace my Submarine Designer as my pre-amp. Seriously, I wont. I've tried scores of others, so please no suggestions for any other eq'd pre-amps, I wont listen, la la la la la la la...
However, been thinking if I just slap a few tubes on my board (before or after the Sub D), I may get close enough to the M9/2x10 effect.
Of course an LPF is (maybe?) needed to simulate the freq cutoff (@ 4kH) of the 2x10 cab.
So, I'm thinking a More is the answer.
Keep in mind, I cannot have my amp/cab with me, just my pedal board and JDI.
My signal chain would maybe then be:
Thumb BO 5 >
HPF > Lomenza Hyperdrive > B3K > Faye-Sing > Submarine Designer >
More > LPF > PA/DAW
Thoughts?
