I'm excited to see what you have in store for the Futhermore.
After some years of too much gear purchases, I've decided to take a break from it all this year. The 6SL7 Slampegg will be the exception to that rule. I'll preorder one if that helps to bump it up the priorities list.

the more I read details in this thread.... the more I realize I'm gonna have issues deciding between 6SL7 Slampegg, Venus, and furthermore.
It’s a great time to be a bass player!
We had a great gig on Friday, great crowd, the sound guys were friendly and accommodating, and by all accounts we, including me, sounded great. Normally we do a sound check1/2 hour before go time, but this time we were allowed to go straight from sound check into playing.
Now the bad/confusing news. They plugged into my Finally and had 0 output. I flipped the toggle, nada. So they plugged into the output in my Markbass head and had signal. The only thing I didn’t try was disconnecting my 1/4 cable as we wanted to press on and get extra songs in.
By all accounts my sound was still superior to the Band 2 bassist. He had a nice Warwick 5er plugged into a SWR rig, it was very bassy, without much cut or presence, and of course no SushiBox.
Any ideas on my issue? This is the same board I use at practice, but don't go through the subs as my rig is plenty loud enough in the basement.

That's gotta be a record for Spark Boosters on a board.
Yeah, I get a lot of comments on that
1 set lows, 1 set mids, 1 set clean. They are all set at unity gain, so no bending over or knob twisting required. If I do want a boost, I can just hit a 2nd Spark.
@Thumper Have you tried getting signal from the Finally DI at home, or in some other scenario? Just to know whether there was a specific issue that night at the venue, or something internal that perhaps needs some troubleshooting.
Is there somewhere where I can go to find audio clips of these pedals? I've got a Darkglass X7 for my straight fire metal needs and a Sansamp for general tone shaping stuff, but I'm looking for something just to give me some nice 'light to medium tube grit'. I'm also potentially looking for some fuzz like the intro to Muse Hysteria and I just can't figure out which Sushi Box to get! It sounds like there are several pedals aimed at 'tube grit', which is what I'm after, but I'd love to be able to hear sound samples from them to help me decide! Honestly, even literally the exact same dry track re-amped into a quick pedal demo would help me out a lot! I'm liking the description of the Dreamcatcher, but I'm pretty nervous about buying it without at least hearing it on youtube somewhere.
Yeah and that's part of my logic, I'd rather have a dedicated one or two units that are D.I.'s than put a D.I. into every single thing I make. Finally isn't going anywhere (and I hope to have a couple in-stock in the coming week) and Furthermore will happen soon-ish.

It's already pretty far up there on the priorities. The only change I'm considering making is getting rid of the Ultra Hi switch as it, like the one on the current Slampegg, is subtle to the point of being almost unnoticeable except at extreme settings.I'll second that!
Outside of that I think I just want one or two outside testers to get some unbiased opinions on it before committing to it, I'm already very happy with the sound and dimensions of the pedal. But with NAMM only about 2 weeks away Venus is the only R&D project really getting my attention right now.
They're all very different beasts, though there will be some overlap between Furthermore and Venus X. Venus is going to be ready well before any of the others though. I'm thinking as soon as Venus is ready I'll finalize the design of 6SL7 Slampegg before shifting gears and diving into Furthermore. I don't expect Furthermore to have as long of a development cycle as Venus, but it's another one that I will want to take my time and make sure I get it right.
I'm also interested to know if Finally is still working normally on your home/practice rig. The XLR output of Finally is always connected to the preamp/D.I. out, regardless of switch position, so if you're not getting any signal out of it then it could be a problem with the preamp.
There are a couple floating around, but I will freely admit that I suck at getting demos together. There was a bass youtube channel that hit me up offering to do demos for pedals and I said I would send them a couple, but it was during a busy period (which I have a lot of) and I still haven't done it.
That being said, it sounds like Dreamcatcher may be your winner if you want something to cover light-medium tube grit and Hysteria (I saw them live a couple weeks ago, they played Hysteria complete with the interlude, it was amazing).
I was about to post the link to the video @FronTowardEnemy made demoing the pedal, but it looks like he just beat me to it
So check that out, and if it's okay with him I'd like to throw that one on the website as well since it does an excellent job showing what the pedal is capable of.

I'm torn between the Dreamcatcher and The Detective. I like The Detective because one channel is based on the Dr Wattson. I found a clip of an older Dr Wattson here and it just sounds sooooo dang gooood! I'd like to hear the other half of the pedal (Elementary) to see if I could get just a nice warm slight growl out of that and use the Dr Wattson channel for the fuzzier Muse(ish) type tone. I think maybe I just need 2x Dr Wattsons!

I was happy with the 12ax7s in my d-catcher, but couldn't resist swapping the "red channel only" tube ....... I tried an old Raytheon AT7 and then an old GE AU7. I though the AU7 gain factor (20 as compared to 100 for the ax7 and 70 for the at7 I think) would be too low, but I was mistaken. In the end I prefer the au7 over the other 2; I can still get plenty of OD for my taste with the au7 with a broader palette of tones from the gain knob.

I can confirm, Elementary will do warm and growly, or at least what I think of when I want warm and growly.
You're not helping my wallet out much! That might just be right up my alley as the Elementary is allegedly designed to be the same amp as The Wattson - just a clean channel. Enticing indeed!
I don’t think anyone would call the Elementary a clean preamp. With my basses, it stays clean up until noon on the gain control. These is a decent amount of tube saturation as you get past 1:00.
I think I remember Nathan saying he thought the Elementary had about 90% of the gain of Dr. Watson.
