I'm not saying you're crazy, but the red channel of Dreamcatcher was actually designed by mixing Underground Accelerator with a Soldano SLO, it doesn't have any Ampeg DNA at all. Soldano-esque drive mixed with UA's fat low end was really the sound I was going for with it.
You can say it, I probably am a little crazy. I haven’t heard a lot of old tube amps live, thanks for that info.
Sorry to say, I was one of the reasons Señor Sushi was busy with repairs, but that's all done and I do believe we're all gazing hungrily at the horizon of salmon and tuna rolls....
Make that 2 in stock. I must say just a few days with the UA has made me an instant fan.
Increasingly I have been using a PodGo instead of amp + cab. While the PodGo has pretty good amp & cab sims for bass, there is still something organic missing. My hope is the Finally will add that missing organic quality back in. The PodGo also has 1/4” out, not XLR, so now I will have a proper transformer XLR out to send to the board.
Also, a suggestion - it would be great if one of the product pictures was with the unit “on” to show the LED color. Or at least the product description included the LED color.
Just put my VT Bass DI up for sale, this is SO much better…
I tried to do that, I may have to do something else. I take product photos in a photography lightbox, and the LED doesn't show up well in the images. I could try something else, all the pedals get the same color LED so I wouldn't need a ton of pictures.
IIRC Pink is the new standard LED. It's just a shade darker than this photo.
I put Marshall style knobs on my JC Emerald.
You're correct, but I don't think I actually note that anywhere on the website.

The Finally is probably the most useful pedal on my board. Great tube DI out to FOH. I also run the board into my amp. It adds some extra tube goodness to whatever I am running on the board, plus if I want a cleaner sound, I just bypass the preamps and add a touch of boost or submarine through the Finally.

The site now lists the enclosure size for Finally as: 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 1.34 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 34 mm), which seems incorrect??
Whoops, that should be 4.77 in x 2.58 in x 1.57 in (121 mm x 66 mm x 40 mm). Clicked the wrong drop-down on that one.
Yeah-assuming it's in the same box as a UA it's 2.6", or 2.3" if the same as the SH.
Considering that F-More is still in development, we might have to wait quite a long while......
Quick question for the collective but first some background:
I am using 2 UA's on my board. The first one I put a 12AT7 in it (Tungsol) and the second has the stock 12AX7. My goal here is to run the first as my basic "Always-On" somewhat clean (I'm really just using this one to add some tube warmth going into my Mesa D800+). The second one with the 12AX7 is going to be used for some warm grit (Essentially looking for a soft clip type of OD) and will be used as an alternate to the primary (Not stacked).
So the question I had was for anyone who has done any tube rolling...Wanted to see what your thoughts were on alternative tubes....Any significant differences? Any suggestions for what I am trying to achieve?

I do essentially the same thing with a UA and SH, although I do not run either "that" cleanly and I set the gain/vol controls such that I have 3 tasty options (either or both). It's total tonal glory for me. As far as tube rolling is concerned (note I am referring to differences between tubs of the SAME type here, NOT totally different tube types with widely varied gain structures) Sushi boxes will reveal differences between tubes, but these differences are subtle and IMHO/IME are really of the "cork sniffing" variety, perhaps worthwhile in a very sparse, perfectionista, recorded mix, but essentially irrelevant live or in an average density recorded mix. Just my free 02.
I don't really wanna open this can of worms, but if you are going between two of the same tube-type, there is effectively zero difference in tone. Tubes are not equalizers. As you already know, going from something like AX7 to AT7 will lower the gain staging and output, but even then, that doesn't actually change the tone, either.
Save yourself some money, and don't bother with tube rolling, unless one of the tubes in your pedals is dying.
