There should be no difference tonally between running these pedals at 12v instead of 9v, right? Specifically, a 'slampegg' running to a 'more.'
It's making me go cross-eyed, but my PSU has a switchable voltage option and I swear I hear a difference. But I don't, right?
the 'more' is an interesting pedal. Only a single volume knob, but depending on where you put it in the chain and how you set the gain stages it's capable of a staggering amount of color. I had originally bought it to run through the FX loop of my vocal microphone preamp in ye ole AI Focus 2 (RIP Rick). It works well in that capacity, but even (especially) there, being able to blend it with the amp's built in preamp and their two gain stages makes for an almost uncomfortable amount of options for someone who tends to suffer from choice paralysis. I still have some experimentation to do, but I suspect when the Sushibox mic pre comes out, it'll be much better suited for this task, putting the tube before the AI preamp. I am trying to resist the urge to 'tube roll' and try some different stuff in the 'more' before it has a chance to break in a settle into my rig.
I thought I didn't think I needed any thing extra (more?) in my upright MBOL signal chain, but I sure did fall in love with the 'more' pedal directly after the Slampegg, set at 12 o'clock (my favorite time-of-pedal).
I've experimented with a couple other tube bass preamps and have to say that the ability to switch them on/off with a button is invaluable for chasing that tone dragon. Are these Sushibox pedals considered 'true bypass' when switched off, btw?
One last quick question : Preamp AX tubes don't really need to 'break in' that much, right? 10-20 hrs or so playtime to 'final' destination, does that sound about right?

No need to "break in " preamp tubes. The Sushi Master has stated there should be no tonal differences of his boxes between 9 and 12V but I have not seen 'scope waveforms of the 2, and perhaps there may differences related to volume/headroom? I dunno.
In Sushi Box pedals, the vacuum tubes are run at a proper high-voltage... much higher than 9 or 12V. In order to get up to that voltage, Sushi Box pedals internally step up the voltage well beyond 9V or even 12V, and because the supplied power is stepped up before it touches the tube, the tube literally has no care if the source was 9V or 12V.
That's very different from most other guitar pedals which use Op-amps which are run at more-or-less the same voltage as the input power, and are thus directly affected by using 12V or 18V versus 9V.

Alas it was not, your order went on backorder. I have boards on hand but I'm fresh out of enclosures. I'm low on a few others as well, I'll get an order in tonight and get your UA together ASAP.
I can attest that'll sound great......for added control I also use a compressor and HPF with the UA on top of my Quilter BB802, which allow me to actively boost lows and low mids while cutting out all the mud....it all fits nicely in a repurposed 6x9" cheapo travel electronics case that sits comfortably on top of the head. It's my tiniest "board", and really all I ever need. I use other effects more as practice aids for looping, hack home recording, keeping it all fresh.

Out of curiosity, which tube tester do you have? I have the Maximatcher II for power tubes and love it, and I'm looking for a good modern preamp tube tester.
I have the µTracer. It comes as a kit that I had to assemble and it took forever (~2 years) for me to get around to it, but it works well. I put mine in a 1U rack enclosure and have it mounted next to my computer for convenience.
Oh I am well acquainted with the UA. I started with a Particle Accellerator and then migrated. I gigged a pair of the latest gen UA's, 1 per bass end of December - sold 'em both when I scored an F2B. Somebody made a simply stupid offer for the F2B before it was off my tech's bench. So here I go with the UA again...
Mine will live with a Genzler re/Q, tuner and wireless receiver as my small board. I have a comp but almost never use it. More often than not, this board will go with a dual bisonic Guild Starfire. My choice for my electro'coustic vocal trio. In the wine bars and bistro's it might be the front end to a PF-20T.
My baby board went and grew up. Ultimately the Hyper Luminal will go back to my big board, and I think an Empress will replace it here. I'm also thinking of having Saturnworks build me an interface box to mount to the board, maybe on the underside, and I've also toyed with putting the Quilter InterBass on top in that open space.
That purple PA mini is so sexy, almost as cool as my Candy Apple Red.
I know this is off topic.... but how's that Trilobite? (back to topic) How does it change when used with particle accelerator?
I just tried my new Slampegg and I’m really digging it so far. It seems to do exactly what I want. The flat setting still sounds like my bass, but I can dial in just enough gain to soften the edges and give it some personality.
No big surprise, the Trilobite is a tremendous piece of gear. Its EQ is as perfectly and musically designed for bass as anything I've ever played thru, and being able to use it as a lead boost as well is just heaps of further utility.
The preamp channels go, from what I can tell, into the FX loop, which then goes to the Insert loop (with the PA as the last pedal in chain). Having a lot of gain on hand, I can push the usually-pretty-clean PA circuit hard, and the result is absolute magic (and manageable magic with the Hyper Luminal adding its bit). I missed my PA while it was off for repairs!
The Trilobite being ultra, surgically clean, it reminds me a bit of the RNDI, but with its suite of options, and it similarly adds this sense of depth even at flat settings. The PA, naturally, reintroduces that organic feel. Having gigged the board on Saturday, I felt like I had the best of all worlds in play.
Two of the best decisions of my adult life were a) springing for this pedal and b) selecting the color options that I did. I don't see myself ever parting with it, ever. & I suspect you know that feeling well lol
Should there be a difference in the output of my Finally DI if I’m just running out of the XLR out as opposed to using both the XLR and 1/4” out? Just using the DI is significantly louder. Not that I can’t just turn it up, just curious if that’s a normal thing.
