Just picked up an Elementary, soon to be here,
Has anyone tried a SpaceHeater and an Elementary together ??

Not technically, but I own an elementary and have played through a space heater (ok it was a finally… but still). Just not at the same time.

I bet they’d be a solid combo! Since both can break up, I’d just be weary of how each is set in the gain territory. That’s incredibly dependent on what you’re going for, though.

I took a break from my usual workings to do some songwriting. I have a riff I wrote in like 2015 that I decided it's time to evolve into a full song.

This was the first time I'd really played (aside from testing pedals) in probably 4 months, and it turns out I suck at the bass. Oh well, can't have everything I guess.

Is there an amperage limit on the MORE? I found a 12v 5a PSU that could make certain gig scenarios more convenient, from a cable run POV.

I played an outdoor gig last weekend on double bass. My Ehrlund EAP, sans their preamp cuz it needs repair, into an Fdeck HPF (mostly for phase control), into the MORE (cuz fdeck doesn't give me enough gain on its own for some reason) into my amp. The drummer and I played on either side of my relatively new Thunderchild 112, ports open.

We've played a bunch together over the years, mostly with a Revolution Solo pickup. After this gig however, he said "I don't know what you've done different, but don't change a single thing."

If I could get something like the MORE with phase and at least a HPF at 30, I think that would do it for me. I would be able to bring the Ehrlund pickup back out of retirement. This will be the 2nd time I've send the Ehrlund preamp back for repair...

An electronic device will only consume as much current as it needs and no problems will be caused by providing much more. If you used a 12V 10,000A supply, the More would still only pull what it need and no more. It probably wouldn't take very long to warm up on a supply that beefy.

At my day job it's standard practice to provide twice as much current as a device needs. If a device is expected to pull 3A in operating conditions, we try to make sure it has at least 6A available.

I’ve used showman/alembic style preamps before - tonally whst should I expect the orange sound to be like? Is “flat” the fender style 2-10-2 setting?

Correct, flat should be 2-10-2ish. Orange uses the same Fender/Marshall/Vox tonestack.

Yes and yes. I have a DC7 and a DC4 chained that power my board, which contains several of my dual-tube pedals. Takes longer to warm up than a OneSpot, but it gets there and does great.

I've had a More, Glass Butterfly and 2 Underground Accelerators powered simultaneously by my CIOKS 7 without issue....I prolly could have wired my toaster up for good measure (jus' kid'n').

Thanks for your Cioks answers. Got the More on 12V or 9V? I can't wait. My More was delivered a while ago but I was not around to pick it up or use it. I'll be bringing it home at the end of the week. For now, all I can say is that it looks cool!

I run mine on 9V 660mA, but 12V 500mA should work as well if I remember right. Shouldn't be an audible difference though.

Cioks DC7 powers my whole board of 11 pedals, LA-1A, UA, and CTC Locomotive (that's 5 tubes) amongst them.
I run LA-1A and UA as always on, just be mindful to not power them all up at the same time as it may cause a problem to the most hungry pedal. I typically wait about 5 secs between each.

This is a useful bit of advice, my board has an absurd number of tubes on it, so I unplug three pedals every time I power up the board so the Cioks doesn't get the whole inrush current hit all at once. If I try to power the whole board all at once from cold, the Cioks won't even boot up.

I found everything powered up but the LA-1A kind of hiccuped, I switched it off and then back on again and it was fine. Ever since that one occasion I just power it up first and wait a bit before turning the rest on.
LA-1A draws an absurd amount of power on startup, 2x500ma @ 12v.
I can run all my pedals together without problems after the tubes get up to speed.
