more importantly - what power supply do you use and how many max milliamps of current do you have this pedal plugged into? I have plugged it into a 300ma slot on a rechargeable power supply and last time it went silent after a while. Then I switched to a separate 9v 500ma wall wart and it started working again. Not sure if it’s the load on the PS or just poor quality PS.

That's one of the very earliest units, most likely mid to late 2020. 300mA is not enough for the pedal to operate, it will need at least 500mA.

All that said some people still prefer the sound of the original "mini-tube" Particle Accelerator over the later 12AX7 version. Hope you enjoy it, and I'm happy to answer any other questions you have.

and for everyone else - is anyone using a power supply with a 500ma slot and if so what is the model?

Thanks for the feedback. Oh! You use a 1spot for 500ma pedal? Plus how many other pedals? My final board (for now) will have 6 pedals. I think all can be run off 100ma except for the PA and I plan on soon acquiring the final piece - a Darkglass Element for cab sim, which has a 250ma draw. I feel like that would be pushing a 1Spot. I was just eyeing a Joyo isolated power supply on Amazon that has two 500ma outputs and 4 low-current, which would be great. Joyo seems to typically have good performance for the buck.

Your description is for 1350ma. One spot is good for 1.5A or 1500ma.

i meant to say the remaining 4 could be run off of 100ma each. So it would be 1150ma total but it would still be less than 1.5A.

EDIT: actually I guess actual current draw for the low current pedals probably would be less than 100. I was just thinking that I plug each one into a 100ma slot but their draw is prob less than 25ma each so nevermind. Maybe I’ll give the 1spot a try.

@DigMe on my studio desk I run as many as 8 pedals including mini tube PA, SB, Finally, Ictineo along with 2 or three more.

You just have to try it. I tried daisy chaining my Slampegg when I first got it and it felt if I lost a little bit of low end and sounded a little thin. I was running 5 pedals before it and the one spot had plenty of power left over.

Daisy chains are awesome, a great way to power a board, until you introduce that one pedal that screws the pooch. Always worth a shot.

What are the differences between the UA and the Elementary exactly tone-wise (not circuit-wise)? Does anyone have a side-by-side comparison of the two (or a previous post ITT that explores the differences)? Are they each respectively more designed for certain styles?

Depending on the power supply, it should be seconds. If it's not warmed up, you'll either hear nothing or the output will be low and distorted.

When I test a pedal I plug it in, then by the time I pick up my bass and take my amp off standby, the pedal is warmed up and ready to go. My typical benchtop test supply is a 1700mA OneSpot.

Thanks for confirming that. I’m using one spot pro that is 500ma single 1600ma total.

I'm powering a UA and/or LU with an 800mA tap on my power supply, and it's warmed up faster than the time it takes to turn my amp on.

Not surprised yours is doing similarly, given the power rating of your supply!
