I agree. But what you do about the hiss? My two Ictineos do have slight hiss that isn't any problem when playing but might be when recording.
I have had no issues with hiss from my Ictineos for recording or live. They will however magnify and noise going into them so you might check there.
HI, I just received a MORE, I live in Italy and it took a while to arrive. I was intrigued to purchase because I heard great things about it here. This afternoon I had the opportunity to play with it a bit, my impressions were really excellent with the Precision, they soften the sound a little and make it more intelligible and slightly compressed at a unitary level, the sensation under the fingers was excellent, as if the instrument responded better. But I didn't have the same feeling with the Jazz Bass and with a Stingray, I found that it cut away some fundamental mid frequencies of these instruments, which also makes them well distinguishable in a mix. Has anyone had similar sensations?
I've used the MORE and have not had any issues with loss of mid frequencies.
Give yourself more time with the MORE and experiment with your eq settings too.
I'm sure you are hearing the overall, even harmonic enhancement that the MORE provides and that alone makes us hear things a little differently as a result. Good luck and welcome to the club!
Active Jazz? Could be behaving differently with a passive VS active instrument? What's the rest of your signal chain? Is it powered properly?
in fact, as I was saying, I noticed a change in the sound, so this confirms to me that the pedal works well.
Except that I noticed that IMO on the Precision it reacts really very well, making the instrument more intelligible in the mix, on the contrary I noticed that that very light cut of mid frequencies instead (to my taste) doesn't go very well with Stingray and Jazz (both pickups open). But obviously a deeper sound in the mids (or boost on low and high frequencies) is not always bad, but often this EQ IMO goes well with some instruments, with others a little less so. But there are so many variables to consider: genre you play, technique, chain of effects and positioning of the pedal within the chain etc.
Obviously I'll have to play with it a little more to be sure of these sensations, however it's certainly a pedal that has its own identity, contrary to what I've heard, you can definitely feel it!

I'd try the MORE in the Post EQ loop, before the HPF LPF. My impression of the MORE is it likes being as near the end of the chain as possible.
Could this be due to there already being a mid cut with those basses at those settings? And to take it a little further, if the mid cut freq on the effect doesn't align with cut freqs of the basses, could this amount to an anemic sounding bass by sucking a wide range of mids?
@Sushi Box FX - did something change on your website to remove the enclosure size details? I was looking to see if a Dreamcatcher would fit on my board but can’t seem to find the size of the pedals anymore.
I apologize, I have been rearranging things on the website and haven't put that back in yet. Dreamcatcher enclosure is 5.72 in x 4.77 in x 1.55 in (145 mm x 121 mm x 39 mm). I'll try to get them all back in the next day or two.

Slampegg just wasn’t my jam. Elementary plays much nicer with my active Fender American Ultra. This one’s a keeper. And I color coordinated the Peterson Strobostomp.
There’s no mid-cut in any Jazz bass or StingRay I’ve played. My experience is quite the opposite. Those basses have more pronounced mids.
Love the Elementary. Oh, and thx for tip about matching the Strobostomp. Gotta do that now.
