Hot out of the box today... :smug:

1st impressions:

  • it's tiny, smaller than I had imagined
  • is this thing hollow?
  • SO LIGHT.. there has to be something wrong here...

plugged it in (UL410S1), all EQ 12 o'clock VLE & VPF off.. master 0 set gain to about 12 o'clock (led blinking then backed off)
slowly turned up master.. HOLY $H17 is this thing LOUD.. got to 3 on the master and the windows were about to explode...

It's definitely got more volume than my old WT-550B and possibly my 700W GK 1001RB-mk2... amazing. Played for a while through my SR5, my PJ and my Squire fretless... just room volume.. awesome amp... pulled all the tones I wanted with ease... very nice Eq and the filters definitely come in handy.. clever.

Can't wait to gig or rehearse with this little weapon... and it will fit in my lead bag... I still can't get over the size to power ratio on this thing, it defies logic. :D

Congrats, it really does defy logic, doesn't it?:D

I had mine out last night and played both my first Brubaker (an all maple Bluegreen 5) and my latest, a semihollow 6 that I finally put new strings on. The first thing that came to mind was:

"No punch?"
:D

I had so much punch with everything set flat it was ridiculous. Maybe the key is that I have my volume up to the point where punch is unavoidable if you play forcefully. I had punch on my high C, punch on semi-muted notes and chords, punch on harmonics, it's was a veritable punch-o-rama.

I fully expect to turn around on some gig in the future, find a 4 spaced rack full of gear and come to the realization that this was all a dream.
:D

BTW, FYI, I hooked my LMII into my S1 UL310 and it was ridiculous. I know the UL410 is much louder, but I can also see that not being necessary a LOT of times, and you talk about portability!!!!

+1... for all but 'stupid loud', this might be my favorite rig ever... loud enough for 90% of most pop/funk/country gigs, around 55 pounds including bags, covers and cords:hyper: , and a beautiful, even, clear tone. Really nice.

I really do like the SD800 with the S2 cabs, but there is something about the LMII with the 310ULS1 and 410ULS1 that just sings to me... lot's of growl and warmth, but plenty of low end and sizzle also. Pretty cool.

That 310UL/LMII is pretty darn good sounding if you like 'solid state but not total hi fi' tone IMO and IME.

The one I want is the LMII, but I realize it's more than what I need. What's a good MarkBass head that's a little cheaper, and is a little less in wattage?

How's teh F1?

The LMII is the cheapest...unless you look at the Little Mark 250, but the difference can't be that much. $600 really ain't much for an amp, especially if you're looking for a good amp. That's pretty freaking cheap actually...that's why they are such a hot item...that and they sound really good.

The F1 is more than the LMII...it's $850. It's the same wattage...basically the same everything except the power amp is digital. And the smaller chassis of course.

What are you....new?!?! Have you never seen a Markbass
thread??
They are only sold at Guitar Center, and not even all the
stores. The only other place to get them (for us) is Canada.
If you buy from Canada, you have to send it back it Canada
for the waranty work. Go to Invalid Link Removed and look at
their products. The Little Mark II is the basic cheap model.

so, i love my combo, but there seems to be a short in the input. not a fan of the cracklin during gigs.

have yet to receive my warrantee stuff in the mail. but i have like 20 gigs in the next month and don't have time to send it in and have it sent out for fixin.

what to do what to do...
