So yeah, lots and lots of threads on MarkBass lately(namely the LMII). I thought it was time we gather together a thread for Markbass lovers, owners, soon to be owners, and those poor souls who GAS for MB like none other.

You know the drill TB'rs.

This CMD 121P has turned my world upside down like none other before it(except maybe a certain tube combo ) Clear, defined, and can turn to a vintage tone machine with a swipe of a single knob, this sucker could probably even do the dishes.

Oh darn. Bought a Markbass sa450 instead of a digital camera Works real nice and punchy with a 410hartke xl. Been lookin at those 15" front ported markbass cabs.

I have to admit, that was a good burn. (that's why I borrow one )

Does the XL have the aluminum speakers or is it the paper ones? I've always been intrigued by the Hartke line.

Big fan of the Markbass gear.....my LMKII has been a great companion for almost a year now. No pics...been too busy playing it. It gets a lot of time all around town (Boston). Hasn't been a room it's sounded bad in. I almost always use the eq flat. Great amp.

The aluminum ones. I used to play it trough a HA3500 and it was just "okay". It seems as if that mark bass head put new life into that cab cause now it just punches you right in face.

I was going to get an sd800 to go with it, but a few days before purchase my laptop died, so I had to replace that instead.

This cab is a giant low end ball rattling monster.

I could not agree more - I went looking to get the LMII amp for use with my Aguilar GS-112 and bought this combo instead - used it on stages several times now and it is great. The two filter knobs are really interesting and worked individually as well as together. Plenty of power - may sell my AG 659/Stewart 1.6/2 - GS-112s

My only issue is I get the radio over the amp - never has happened to any other piece of equipment and it has happend in several locations. I wonder if it has to do with electrical specs in Italy versus US??? I will try the ground lift switch to try to cancel it now that I think about it. But, other than that this is an amazing piece of gear.

Selected Guitar Center's carry them. I see you are in Chicago. I purchased mine from the downtown Chicago GC. The price is $599 plus tax, and includes a two year warranty but no carrying bag.

I believe they overcharged you. Markbass/Guitar Center have an unusual warranty. The price of the amp is $599 and the warranty is free with it. The problem is with GC's internal system, to enter the warranty on the order they have to have a value on it. So they are supposed to either discount the amp and charge for the warranty, or make the warranty $0 on the order. Either way, it should come to $599 total, with warranty. There are alot of GC employees making that mistake and overcharging people because it's a bit confusing and different from what GC usually does. If you contact a manager, they should be able to give you a refund when you explain the situation.

+1 and well said. I almost made the same mistake. When I explained it to the salesperson (thanks to input from other TBers), they gave me the correct price, which was around $635 shipped with tax.
