Wow I'm glad that I'm not building a bass for some of you guys. Patience is a virtue do you honestly think this stuff happens over night? It's not like I can drop a call to Musicians Friend to make this happen! I glued the body core up today. Tomorrow I will thickness it to size and I hope to plane the neck blank and get the fingerboard ready.
I'll post pics then.I gotta tell ya. If I could turn out a bass a week I'd be a pretty rich man

Neck is planed, fingerboard is cut, and body core is glued up and planed.
Here’s the 3 piece pine core, I didn't get too selective on the wood as far as knots and stuff. I did however use an older piece for the center. The older piece is from an old barn, it don’t get more Texas than that!! Have you ever tried to drive a nail in old pine? Those who have will realize why I wanted this piece where the neck joint will be. I wish I had enough of it for the whole body. And yes in the center under the knots is a NAIL HOLE
The neck blank is on the left and the fingerboard is on the right. I'll eventually epoxy coat the fingerboard before I sell the bass, but for the sake of this thread I'll wait to do that after sound clips and final pictures. Maybe I'll add more clips with the coated board for comparison we'll see.
