I just knew it! I knew the V4 would go for more than the V8 with the 2x15! Oh the injustice, I think we should email the buyer of the V4 and laugh in his face 
. At least we kept the V8 in the talk bass family. I guess the collection factor killed the value of the V8.

There were a couple of issues with a few minor parts (jacks and such) that , IIRC, were in the later Kaman years mainly. Considering these amps haven't been made for a few years and you said it's under warranty... did you buy an NOS unit?So...
"what exactly does this mean?"...its means a printed circuit board (PCB) fried.
"why did it happen?"...could have been a defective (insert any part name here) on the PCB. Anything electronic can last 30 seconds or 30 years, you just never know.
"is it going to have negative effects on the amp in the future after repair??"...no. If your tech actually figured out why it fried and is ordering the proper replacement part(s) and knows how to install them correctly, you will have no problem.

Check Aus e-bay and theres usually a few Trace items going cheap.
What about the Series 6 300W 2x10" combo? One guy is selling one for pretty low price...around 400 euro.

nope, the old ones are called v-type, v4 or v6, and the new ones are called v4/6/8. recognizing them is easy: old ones have five black knobs, and you can't see the tubes from the front. new ones have more and shiny knobs, and you can see the tubes.
well, this week we saw that a new v8 can be cheaper than an old v4. it's about having a bit of luck. or perhaps lots of luck...

...easy...crank up the bias! Honestly, my VA400 has 6 '88's & it's rated @400w, hence the "400". The V-8 has 8 '88's & is also rated @400w but I beg to differ with its "real" output due to experience with both these beast...
It is definetly possible, even if it's "only" 350w, who cares? It's still loud as HELL!
You can't compare the ratings of these Trace valve heads to a typical s/s one or s/s pwr amp, two totally different vehicles & end results, good & bad...

it seems a bit overpriced to me, yeah. but then again, it's new, it's sold by britishaudioservice, and it's still a lot of amp for the money.

Heh, I did buy my V8 from Shane, so I definitely trust the seller, but if I did get one, I'd only be looking for a backup to the V8 (and hence, I'd be looking to score a cheaper price). This may be a fair price, though. If it's from British Audio Service, you know it's going to be in good working order.
BTW, Shane is also selling a V-Type 220 (the predecessor to the V4):

heya guys, I sent a PM to Kelly before on me selling my Trace Elliot Pre-Gib 4x10 that I've purchased awhile back.. How much do you think I could get it for? I hope I could get a nice Pre-gib Trace 2x10 in exchange for it.. Anyone be able to help me? 
I remember myself buying the 7210H Combo 2x10 amp and that was awesome! Too bad it was post-gib, so the amp cramped out later on
