One year a neighbor came over to borrow a roasting pan. She'd planned to use her own, until she discovered that her husband had used it as an emergency litter box.* "We can just wash it," he said. "No," she said. (In her case, I'm paraphrasing.)
*For a cat, not himself.
I agree with the wife. There’s acid in any pee that might interact with the metal.

I bet she said, “Urine in big trouble, hubby of mine! :rage:

So the other cat I've been neglecting to feature. His name is Chowzer, he is a feral cat that had lived in the neighborhood for 15 years outdoors the whole time. I've been entrusted to care for him after my neighbors who were caring for him, moved to the coast. He's been on his own all this time so he is unpettable and won't come inside, until today...

We had a stray cat that lived in our garage for at least a decade. It can get cold here in Ottawa (-30C... but that is getting less common) and we provided her with a heated cat bed. We also fed her. She grew to tolerate me, but I couldn't get close.

The last few months of her life she came into the house. I was able to pet her a bit. She died quietly in comfort.

I'm hoping the same here.
