The original tubes were EL34. Over the years we have found the tubes did not last as long as we liked, so we now recommend KT88 tubes.

KT88 or KT77?
Well, the original SA200 chassis did allow for 6550's, so if Roger says it'll drive KT88's, then maybe I'll give that a try.
