Personally, for me, I'd like to see chrome mounting screws on the p/g, control plate, and maybe the bridge...I like the contrast that provides.

Different strokes, YMMV, and it look like another great piece of work!

I feel the same way about my Valentis.
I am currently playing #23 a lot since I am in the process of selling my home and building a new one so I got all my basses witha friend and since I do not want to bother him swaping basses over and over I asked him to bring me a bass and I will play it for a couple more months until we close and move into the house and I get access to all my basses again. I asked him to bring me one and he brought me #023.
I loved the way the bass looked at first but I did not get the chance to fully mess wwith the settings until now... now I love the way ti looks and also the sound... that sound... WOW!!!:hyper: :bassist::bassist::hyper:
I was thinking of selling one of them but every time I swap between the Geddy, 023 and 008 Idecide to kep it (the bass I am trying at that moment). I think I will kep all 3 and get rid of another one instead :)
One day will come to see when I order a new one from Nino.

One question for NIno and other users:
How can you tell if a bass has 60'2 or 70's placement?
I have the Geddy (do not remember the number but I think is 18), #008 and #023.

Yeah well...........it's hard to argue with something that sounds good. Regardless what's on the headstock.

Sometimes brand loyalty can get in the way. I've been guilty of in the past and might even be in the future as well.
But if it sounds good it sounds good.

My shocking moment was when I bought a Hartke 2.5XL cab while I was waiting for some other cabs to come in.
I ended up buying a second one it sounded so good.

Sometimes you have to actually use you ears and not your eyes. Crazy huh!

This is NOT a knock on Ken. Ken's a good friend. WJ's comment just sparked a little thought in me.

I'd have to agree. I did the same thing with an Avatar cab. I got one for my church and loved it so much I got one for myself. So much great tone for $300 off of ebay. If it's good, it's good no matter what it says on the head stock or the grill.

Certainly true - my intention was not to disparage Ken in any way at all. I meant that he is a guy who seems to be willing to give just about any piece of gear a try, and from what I've seen he hasn't had a turn with Valenti. I really, really like his AC, by the way.

+1. I've got a Berg AE410 and some Avatar cabinets. I sold an Avatar 410 to buy the Berg. The Berg is better - but I bet nobody but me notices the difference, and even I think it's incremental at most. They are actually pretty similar sounding cabinets (I did upgrade the tweeter on my Avatar). I could not, in good conscience, advocate that anyone spend $1200 on an AE410 instead of $400 on the Avatar. There's simply not enough difference IMO.

Actually, Erich - the iAmp 800 I bought from you a few years ago, through the Avatar 410, was about as good sounding rig as I've ever had. The iAmp just wasn't loud enough.

...and I've really fallen back in love with #51. I had it on the block for a while, but decided to sell my SR5 instead in order to fund a new Skjold (which is a Lion's Pride but really different animal tonally). #51 is the kind of bass that I can take anywhere, to any gig, in any musical situation, and it fits in perfectly. It's light, all the parts are obviously of very high quality, and it records very well. The neck profile is just what I like. It is not going anywhere.

Funny, though - Nino's pictures have the parchment pickguard on. Of the three he made for me (clear, tort being the other 2), the parchment is my least favorite. I've never had that one on the bass. The clear one has been on the most. It's cool to be able to change them out, though - although Nino made them all for me a little begrudgingly. Evidently pickguards are a pain in the ass.

I would think so.
I think I'd prefer tort on yours, but I'm pretty traditional like that.

I've owned, and/or played *a lot* of high end stuff.
This one gives up nothing to the competition!
It hangs beautifully on a strap; and at 9.5 lbs is a perfect weight, for me.
The neck suits me to a tee, and the pure, raw JJ tone from the Sadowsky single coils is perfect for me.

I have other basses that "I play cause I have them," but every time I take this one to work, it's like "awwww yeah: love this bass."

I'm in the process of selling down to three primary basses, and this is one of those three.
