Here's an unboxing and first impressions vid of one of Nino's new Verrazzano models. Nino's killed it here! This bass is a really impressive package.
Another great sounding bass from Nino. That ice blue finish is gorgeous. What is the body wood and does it have a set of Delano SBC Dual Coil Soapbars in it?

It has a swamp ash body and a set of SBC 5 HE/S Driver pickups.
Those pickups have great sounding single and dual coil tones. Nice to have both in one bass. I’m also a fan of the 6-bolt neck for good focus and sustain.

So I’ve been getting closer to pulling the trigger & doing my homework. ~ I have a question for the experienced among you.
looking at the differences between Custom & Verrazzano basses, it seems that outside of wanting custom options they might be quite similar.
What have your experiences been comparing the two side by side?

I have not compared the two but I have a Verrazzano series and love it. Certainly feels top notch and custom to me. Guess you have to decide how important the differences are to you.

Major differences between the 2 are:
-No contoured neck heel on Verrazzano
-No Rounded fretboard edges on Verrazzano (Has rounded fret ends)
-Paint grade bodies on the Verrazzano. Since the Verr all have an opaque finish, I don't need a pretty looking piece of Ash or Alder, they have 3 piece or "ugly" 2 piece bodies
-Licensed HipShot Ultralites and Kluson High Mass bridges are standard. HipShot USA Hardware and bridges are available at an upcharge
ALso, I used to offer only Dual SoapBars on the Verrazzano. In 2021, I you will be able to get all the pickups that are offered on the Custom Series on the Verrazzano Series.

Unfortunately, there will be a very small price increase in 2021. $100 increase on the base price of the bass.

Last night, I unbagged my gold Valenti 5-string (#245) after it sat for a couple of months. Hey, don't get the wrong idea, folks -- I've just been playing my other Valentis!
But despite not being touched for several months, it was still nearly perfectly in tune. Good wood in the neck? Carbon fiber bars? Climate-controlled storage area? Combination of all three? Something else?

I've been considering a custom bass for the end of 2021. I should have enough money saved by then. I have been considering a few options, all I know is I want a good 4 string that would be my main axe for years. I already have a good 5 string from Maruszczyk, so I'm set in that regard... I'm more of a 4 string player anyway. The two 4 strings I have are ok but not outstanding basses.
I had been considering one of the new Stingray Specials, but the new price tag for a factory built instrument is insane, here in the UK. And because I'm a Jazz Bass player at heart (yeah, very different from a Stingray, but don't ask haha), I'm now considering a Valenti bass. It falls within my budget, can be made the way I want... and Nino seems like a good dude too!
I've got to say, @LowEndLobster 's video inspired me, this Verrazzano bass is stunning.
Here are the specs I'm thinking of:
-M21-J 4 string
-Satin Ice Blue Metallic finish
-Black hardware
-Alder body
-Maple neck and fingerboard
-Hipshot O Ring knobs
-Kluson High Mass Bridge
-Aguilar Super Splits pickups
-Nordstrand 2B preamp with passive push pull
Aesthetically, very similar to the Verrazzano reviewed by Lobster, except in 4 string.
What do you guys think?

Man, you really can't go wrong with Nino, and I think those Verazzano basses are some of the best deals around.

I think you’d be really happy. My reasons for getting a Valenti were very similar and my #198 is my go -to bass with no GAS. I got what I wanted and the weight, which was big for me because of major back issues, is perfect.
Although I’m now having doubts about what pickups to pair with the Nordstrand 2B preamp...
Aguilar Super Splits or Nordstrand Big Splits? I know I want soapbar hum cancelling pickups.... but want to keep that Jazz vibe!

Big Splits lie somewhere between J and P pickups. If you want a J sound but hum canceling then I would suggest either the 60's or 70's voiced hum canceling jazz bars from Nordstrand.

Can someone confirms both:
-If I choose a Nordstrand 2B preamp + VTC on my Valenti, is the VTC working on both active and passive? If so, does it feel redundant with the treble knob in active?
-Is the deposit still $500 to order a bass from Nino?
