I struggled with hand pain for a long time because I loved the bass I was playing. When I couldn't stand it any more, I tried a Valenti with the neck dimensions I wanted and have never looked back. I'm pain free for almost a year and the playability and tone is wonderful.

I had/have the same problem. I always thought it was from my Upright, until I started playing my Valenti. A few weeks after i received #125, pain free, I took my Fender fiver to a rehearsal. Within a few measures my hand was in bad pain. Sold the bass the next day. Gas and Pain free for a year and a half now. Thanks Nino.

I had contacted Bassnw.com a few days before about that bass. I also called them before they opened, and left a message and never got a call back. If it doesn't work out send me a shout......Truly nice bass!

I heard from Nino yesterday on my current build:
my bits are at the paint shop, and I'm 4-8 weeks out from completion.

Hey guys, just wanted to send an update on Valenti #61 that I aquired earlier this year. I was running the Nordstrand DCs in single coil mode almost constantly, and I'm more of a single coil guy most of the time anyhow, so I ordered the custom EMG 40 size Nordstrand Big Splits to replace the custom size Nordy dual coils. I love how this bass is sounding with the splits and the OBP-2! I am now left with a 3-way dummy switch, though...what should I do/control with it?

I'm the original owner of that bass. I'm glad to see that it is in good hands! Why don't you use the toggle as a series/parallell/kill switch?

Commreman: I don't think Big Splits are coil tap-able. I could be wrong.

Maybe he means series/parallel between the pickups, I'd think it'd be quite boomy with splits though.

That is exactly what I meant. When I had this one, the toggle was series/parallell/single coil.

Wow, what a great read! Thanks for that link, commreman. I have wondered what the back story on this bass was, but hadn't gotten around to using the search function on it yet! What an honor to have the bass that was such a great build collaboration. I'm also glad to have added a small touch with the big splits. One day maybe there will be yet another chapter written!
