Nino Valenti said:Thank you. 39 feels just like 38.![]()
I struggled with hand pain for a long time because I loved the bass I was playing. When I couldn't stand it any more, I tried a Valenti with the neck dimensions I wanted and have never looked back. I'm pain free for almost a year and the playability and tone is wonderful.
On it's way to me. This is gonna be fun.
Hey guys, just wanted to send an update on Valenti #61 that I aquired earlier this year. I was running the Nordstrand DCs in single coil mode almost constantly, and I'm more of a single coil guy most of the time anyhow, so I ordered the custom EMG 40 size Nordstrand Big Splits to replace the custom size Nordy dual coils. I love how this bass is sounding with the splits and the OBP-2! I am now left with a 3-way dummy switch, though...what should I do/control with it?

That is exactly what I meant. When I had this one, the toggle was series/parallell/single coil.Maybe he means series/parallel between the pickups, I'd think it'd be quite boomy with splits though.
Wow, what a great read! Thanks for that link, commreman. I have wondered what the back story on this bass was, but hadn't gotten around to using the search function on it yet! What an honor to have the bass that was such a great build collaboration. I'm also glad to have added a small touch with the big splits. One day maybe there will be yet another chapter written!
