The Valenti Megathread Part IV

Here's a question for you guys...

My bass will run passive (VVT) but it will have two switches for each pickup. How should I place them? The input jack will be on the bottom of the bass. I'm anxious to get pics from Nino!

Hey guys, just wanted to send an update on Valenti #61 that I aquired earlier this year. I was running the Nordstrand DCs in single coil mode almost constantly, and I'm more of a single coil guy most of the time anyhow, so I ordered the custom EMG 40 size Nordstrand Big Splits to replace the custom size Nordy dual coils. I love how this bass is sounding with the splits and the OBP-2! I am now left with a 3-way dummy switch, though...what should I do/control with it?

I had that bass for a bit. It was nice.

Kill switch it is! That's something I could wire up easily.

I think it's the lightest 5-string bass I own...it's really fun to gig with, and the single coils have outstanding dynamics. I love to explore dynamics with the drummer, and these Big Splits deliver everything from soft to a great crunchy dig-in tone.

Thanks, Chad! I've always liked the uniqueness of spalted maple, and frequently was scared away because I figured it was too soft of a top wood to expect good sustain, etc. This bass proves my fears wrong.

Okay, I know this isn't a killer picture, but I figure I would share the excitement. Valenti #145 just showed up!

I'll try to remember and take better pictures over the weekend. In person, the bass is an absolute STUNNER, and it is light as a feather. I cannot wait to get out of here and fire this thing up!

Nino's work is excellent and he's great to work with. I struggled with hand pain for a long time because I loved the bass I was playing. When I couldn't stand it any more, I tried a Valenti with the neck dimensions I wanted and have never looked back. I'm pain free for almost a year and the playability and tone is wonderful. Give Nino a call. You won't be disappointed!

I echo the above sentiment 100%. The fit and finish on my bass is flawless. The control cavity wiring is the cleanest and most organized I have ever seen. The bass is the lightest and most balanced instrument I've owned, and it's one of the biggest basses I've owned but feels like one of the smallest. The neck profile is just big enough to feel solid, but small enough to feel fast and easy to play.

Honestly, I don't GAS very often. I have a couple of basses and tend to stick with them. I ordered a Valenti because I felt he offered options I couldn't get anywhere else in the price range that I was comfortable with. My new Valenti is, hands down, the best overall instrument I have ever owned, plain and simple. Thanks Nino!!!
