It's great!
Hefty, punchy; and, substantively brighter than my ash/maple Sadowsky MV5.
I took off the DA Prosteels that came on it, and put on a lightly used set of DA XL170 and that suits it (me?) better.

Is it too late to ask if Nino and his family are OK?

I mean, am I the last one worried about these folks on Staten Island, NY—one of the five boroughs and certainly the most exposed to Sandy. It is looking pretty rough out there...

Thankfully, me and my wife's family in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Long Island and NJ are fine. My home received very little damage.

Unfortunately, I live on high ground about 5 blocks from the beach. 3 blocks away received extensive flood damage and the houses that face the beach are totally destroyed. I'm hearing from friends in the FDNY that they are pulling out bodies fromthese houses and there are "make shift" (not sure if that's the proper term) morgues that have 200+ bodies. The City is not releasing this to the News outlets.

I have many friends that have lost their homes, rehearsal studio with all their gear.

My heart is broken and I'm close to tears typing this. :(

Dang....you're right, the media are saying nothing about anything like that;
there really aren't any words that are good at times like this, I'm so sorry.....

I've taken this bass to every gig since I got it.
I've taken -only- this bass to several gigs since I got it.

Everyone loves it, including me.
It's super easy to play, covers all the sonic ground I need, and damn if it ain't easy to look at as well.
Kinda edgey and classy at the same time, somehow.

How the tone? Is it a warm sounding bass, which I'm looking for.

This bass wasn't spec'd to be warm...
It's ash/maple/ with Nord single coils and a Sadowsky preamp.
So: full, punchy, edgey.

If you want warm, that can certainly be had, easily, by changing some specs.
Simply changing to the Nord 2 band preamp and a rosewood board would change things a lot.

If having a bass built for you, to your sonic goals, is something you're thinking about, a phone call to discuss your needs with Nino would be worth your time.

I plan on writing a separate review of this bass when I get some times (probably early next week), but I have to say I cannot stop playing this one. I have already gigged it and love it.

I just say this for now...Its probably the most versatile bass that I have owned.
