Just saw it
You guys are killing me! I was gonna wait to post pics when I got it.
I've always loved J basses and Leo's overall design and I always wanted to have a quality J bass built. I've owned two of Nino's basses in the past and both were high quality but weren't me. I was going for a more modern design of a J bass and Roscoe Beck signature J:
I'm very happy with the look of the bass. Classic, yet modern. I'm excited to see the possibilities with the pickups and the switching.

This is one of my favorite ones. Nino's wiring is so tight!
Really? The Hansons/Pirruccellos made Lākland's pickups even before they acquired Lākland. They've been pretty innovative over the years with their pickup offerings.

Valenti #062 popped up in classifieds the other day.
It's sort of a "51P5" kinda thing.
I'd seen it go thru BassNorthwest, and trade once here.
I couldn't pass on it this time.
It's en route back to Nino to get a 51 pick guard and control plate, that will have volume and tone (versus just tone as it is now) and a football plate output jack on the side.
Nord "stacked" single coil, 7.75lbs.
It'll be a few weeks before it gets back to me. I'll post pix of the transformation.....

Awesome, love the tone on those old early 50s Pbass'.
I'm going to want some clips of that thing when you get it.
How's the fret work on his basses? Assuming he does not actually install the frets, does Nino redress/recrown/polish frets should they come through with sprouts, etc?
