The Valenti Megathread Part IV

I was kinda bummed - I spec'd out a killer bass but things happen. He didn't give me the impression he wants to stop making instruments. It was his suggestion to refund my money however. I was just about to make another payment too...

Sometimes things just aren’t a good match.

Well, nothing I ordered was out of the ordinary. When I ordered in August he gave me an estimated time and we went from there. It was just this past week when I went to make a payment we had a discussion and he suggested refunding my money. Again, I would rather he explain what's going on. It wasn't anything specific to my choice of instrument.

They all have very distinct characteristics.
The SJ-5 is a very in your face aggressively voiced Jazz bass. Great slap tone.
The P4 is strung with La Bella Low tension flats and delivers a great vintage vibe and sounds great when played with a pick.
The PJ-5 is a great in the mix active bass that plays like butter. Admittedly I'm still trying to sort out the passive mode with my playing style.

There has been a few changes at my supplier's shop which has cause some really long turnaround times.

I've contacted all of my current customers and let them know of the longer turnaround for their orders. During this time I took a couple of new orders.

Time passed and the older orders are still not completed, they're in different stages of production and I can't get a an answer to when these will be done. Some of these older orders are from January/February. The newer orders I received are a couple of months old and have not been started yet.

I Offered those 2 customers a full refund because it seems the wait on any new order will be 12-14 months, which to me, is unacceptable.

At this time, I am not taking any new orders until either my supplier's new CNC operator is up to speed on running my programs or I find a new supplier to make my basses.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused any of my customers.

Good luck man! I really appreciated your honesty with me. You were cool to deal with and hope in the future we can try this again!

Hope you can get the supply chain issues worked out. Really enjoyed working with you and love these basses.

Okay, I have to say that I don't think Nino is capable of making a bad bass. There are a few basses that feel custom made out of the box, and his are in that category. I now have 2, and I love 'em both. To be honest, the first time I played one, I was underwhelmed, but then I was told that the owner had all of the settings flat, so that wasn't a true example of what they are. Now I know.

I'm happy to say I began taking orders again. Current turnaround time on my orders is roughly 5-6 months.
