The Video Game Thread

Anyone else playing Tears of the Kingdom? I've been neglecting bass in favor of playing it, but it's just too much fun.
My oldest daughter gifted me Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) on Father's Day.

I'd finished Breath of the Wild. She was already playing TotK and was gonna give me the game when she was done.

But she blind-sided me on Father's Day with my own game. She's my favorite daughter for now... LOL.

Excellent game so far. Still on the Great Sky Island, about to snag my 4th heart. FWIW, my daughter and I approach games differently. She's more 'get thru the game', not exploring much. I'm really into the exploration side, knowing I'll get thru the game eventually. I take a long time to finish games LOL. We all have our personal approaches, I suppose.

Waiting for the September release of Starfield, which I'm really looking forward to, I'm now playing through The Outer World's DLC to get me in the mood...
My TV gave life recently.
I think my Xbox Series X will either be moved to the closet or sold.

I was kinda looking forward to Starfield but I think it's too empty. I think I'm starting to like more condensed games as I get older :)

From what I've read, Starfield will have 1000 planets available...but with only 100 of them fully populated (with cities, quests, flora, fauna, etc.)
I'm assuming the rest will have maybe mineral deposits to mine, or whatever...and once the modders get to work, the sky's the limit as to what we'll find.
And of course, Bethesda will doubtless be producing DLC to further fill up the universe.
I reckon it's a game I'll play a lot initially, then ease off, dropping in now and then to see what's new.

Well, months come and go and... not much has changed.
The Xbox Series X has been permanently delegated to the box and closet.

The only video game I have been playing (when possible) is World of Warcraft.

Really liked both of those series. My wife doesn't play video games at all, rarely watches me play. But she enjoyed watching and helping me play both of those. Sometimes there were marathons until the next morning. It was kinda frowned upon if I played and she wasn't around LOL.

The only other three I can think of her watching was the first Dead Island, the first few Fatal Frames, and first few Silent Hills.

My wife gets sad at some of the post-apocalyptic games, like when you find details and artifacts of the world going to the crapper. Like the notes in TLOU or the audio files in The Division if you played that.

I'm not sure how many of you out there play video games, but I've been having a blast with Starfield on Xbox. I've already got an obscene amount of time on the game and look to spend many more hours.

I've gotten obsessed with building a ship and would like to present to you the Starbreaker

View attachment 5187601 Another Starfield fan here... I've a feeling I'll be playing this for a long time...so many planets to clear of any type of life form...:D
I can't stand the stairs in the ships so I've resorted to all single level rides that are a mile long. Could use some QOL improvements that are being handled by mods over on PC but I see myself sailing the stars for a while
