I really think that the Wolves thing and the bisected bodies is foreshadowing of some really bad times with really bad folks ahead. That was just too odd to not be something we see again.

Could just be misdirection, I mean that's how the last episode started. I think most people assumed, as did I, they were burying Beth at the beginning. But they must have buried her near Atlanta. I'm gonna guess that the group will move on and never encounter the "Wolves". Just like the group that apparently raided the campers in the woods that our group found a while back.(before the prison fell?, I'd have to re watch. I remember Daryl saying, "this wasn't walkers, this was people that did this")

Some things are just dead ends, as they probably would be in a world like that.

I have read the comics, but I can say, for example, the entire Beth story arc was new. She doesn't even exist in the comics. Neither does Daryl, so anything could happen. Which is exciting to me. That is all I will say regarding the comics to avoid spoilers.

I watched On-Demand (and could not fast fwd the commercials...all 45 minutes of them). Actually, I was wondering how Eugene and Father Gabriel are still alive and well? They round out this our cast or will they serve as bait in a later episode? Anyway, season finales and mid season premiers predictably mean heavy events happen and the rest of the season is dealing with those repercussions. IMO...the show is starting to go down.

For me, I think the show has peaked. There's not much left that they can do that I haven't already seen. That's not to say I won't keep watching. The season resumption premiere was good but there's a limit to how many times I can get worked up over the demise of a character. I dunno.

It might be time for them to announce an endgame for the show and construct a story arc from here to there that's actually going somewhere. They can't just keep drifting indefinitely.

I will say that I still find it very useful to watch the Talking Dead that goes with each new episode. They discuss small visual details, storyline points etc. that just aren't always apparent to me, even after multiple viewings.

I am very pleased with the current teaming of Scott Gimple and Greg Nicotero. They have created some really fine episodes together since Gimple took over as showrunner in Season 4. Nicotero of course is the special effects legend who has been with the show from the start; he is also directs a few episodes per season (including this most recent). Gimple was hired as a writer in season 2 and became showrunner after Glen Mazarra left. Gimple has the writing credits for some of my absolute favorite episodes including Clear, No Sanctuary, This Sorrowful Life, The Grove... I could go on.

I'd actually say that in my opinion, the show hit an ebb during the Mazarra administration (season 3), pulled itself together by the end of season 4, and is entering its potential "golden years" under good creative leadership.

I don't think the show has peaked at all. It is constantly evolving and they haven't scratched the surface as far as running out of plot twists and new material.

I don't think so, & I hope not.

I think that little tidbit was there to help show us how weak the survivors are getting. That even something as minor as that could be fatal if you're not expecting it.

It also shows that someone else already fought that walker previously, and probably lost.

I'm guessing they are going to regroup as best they can and limp along, perhaps sustaining further casualties, until they get overtaken by one of the roving gangs they heard about on the radio. That much seems pretty obvious, but what was with the zombie parts cache?

Tyrese was hallucinating the radio broadcasts and the violent roving gangs in the reports were none other than our group of survivors.

I thought it was a another reference to the Fallout videogame franchise (they've done that before), where as your character progresses you start to hear about your own exploits on the radio, be they good or bad.

It was actually Andrew Lincolns voice on the radio speaking in his real British accent. I thought that was a pretty cool little addition

This. The show has definitely not peaked...in fact, if the ending of the last episode is any indication, I believe we're getting to something really exciting quite soon.
