My take on the Sam situation (Sam is the kid who wants Carol's cookies):

She's a little frightening, but she's also brave and powerful. Sam recognizes (correctly as the audience knows) that Carol might be his best ally against Abusive Dad. So Carol (in Sam's mind) is a stock character from children's literature: the scary-yet-sympathetic monster who is not afraid of the grown-ups and who becomes a protector to the young protaganist. What bullied/abused kid wouldn't want a misunderstood dragon or ogre to stand up for them?

I don't know - but I can't say I felt too much for Noah. Marginal character - showed up midway through last season. Got Beth killed and Tyresse killed. Generally seemed weak. Brutal way to go but on the whole didn't seem like that big of a deal.

Tara is somewhat similar but she's been around for longer and has been paying for her part with Guv ever since. I bet the prediction of the doc being too drunk to care is a pretty good one.

Carol's made a huge jump on abusive dad. I am not sure we have seen any evidence of this. His wife wears tank tops and seems to get along fine with him.

On more than one moment I kept expecting abusive dad to whore his wife out to Rick. He seems to know what's going on in Rick's head but doesn't do anything...?

2 more episodes left? Hopefully the shite hits the fan.

Just watched the episode again - man it was brutal.

I think that the real twist is that Deanna's son died. That could make her listen more to Gabriel and then what the coward Nicholas said. Because otherwise, the info from people like Tobin would outweigh what Gabriel says.

I agree with the theme of the episode that cowards get you in trouble. Nicholas, Tobin, Gabriel. And unless Alexandria has any protection, then I can't see them doing anything about Rick's group. The real question is who ate the Wolves or is that W an M and is Morgan lurking? The only way you get rid of Ricks group is to kill them in their sleep and no one in Alexandria has that in them.

Plus the fact that Maggie heard what Gabriel said doesn't bode well for him. Again marginal character and I don't care if he dies. In fact, ripped to pieces would be kinda nice.

There is definitely a cry for help right as Gabriel leaves, so the shite will hit as soon as the next EP starts.

As far as Gabriel's motivations - it has to be from guilt and a desire to start over with no one knowing what he did. Because he has actually done worse than Rick in the time they have been together.

I generally agree about Noah. He wasn't around long enough to matter much. His actions did contribute to Tyreese getting killed, but it's hard to blame him. He'd just been hit with the news that his family was probably dead. Understandably, he had to go and look. Tyreese should have been more careful. As far as Noah getting Beth killed, how? Noah was willing to be handed over to the lady cop at the hospital, but Rick said no. And Beth was shot by accident.

I hope Tara lives. There is something about her naivete and eagerness to make up for her involvement with the Governor that makes her a likeable character. She's also extremely loyal and doesn't shrink from danger at all. She may not be one of the top badasses in the group, but she has gained experience and is reliable in a combat situation.

Also, I'm hoping Eugene develops as a character. His connection to Tara gives him more dramatic possibilities.

It is hard to believe that the Alexandrians are so naive after all this time. One large herd or a Governor type with a big truck or a tank would make short work of those walls. Just lucky?

Gabriel has to go - he has cause a lot of damage. Can't believe that he said those things to Deanna after they have saved his dumb a$$.

Why didn't the guys put a mercy bullet into Adrian so he didn't suffer getting eaten alive?

Agree that the doc may be too out of it to save Tara. This will be really bad in many ways.

I really hope that the show is not "jumping the shark" yet. I hate it when the producers start to take themselves and the shows too seriously and destroy the feel of the show.

I've watched a lot of zombie movies over the years and my main complaint is that the characters always act like they've never watched a friggin' zombie movie. What do they live under a rock? We've had zombie movies for like 50 years. They've never seen a single one?

According to Robert Kirkman, the story of WD takes place in a world where George Romero's movies and the pop culture of zombies flicks in general never existed, so in fact, they've never seen a zombie movie. ;)

My wife and I were speculating as to whether Maggie will go to Rick & the group and tell them what Gabriel told Deanna first, or tell Deanna what Gabriel did to his congregation and that he shouldn't be trusted. I'm kind of on the fence. Either way, Fr. Gabriel is toast.
