The Walking Dead Series 2

I believe just started to nibble on his boot?

thats what i was thinking. and i imagine a hillbilly like daryl would be wearing his steel toes.

fun seeing merle again. somehow i knew it was a hallucination before they showed both hands in tact. something about merle finding his brother washed up on a creek bed is a liiiiittle too far-fetched. yea sure.. zombies.. but thats just silly.

was really hoping that the "merle" he saw at the top of the hill wasnt another zombie. or he was reeeeally going to be F'ed when he got up there.

herschel isnt as cool as he used to be. attitude changed pretty fast. and here he's been corralling the dead into his shed. not sure if he doesnt have the heart to kill a "person" or if he thinks he can save them somehow. explains why he said no guns.

was a little annoyed at how they just started peppering in more children. where did these kids come from all of a sudden?

i know that dale is afraid to scold andrea again, but for the first time she actually DID do something stupid.

Definitely dug this episode alot despite them still being on the farm (my previous complaint.) Things are starting to come together now, especially now that Carl's ok and the gang is obviously getting restless / trigger happy. Should be a good rest of the season.

Any word how many episodes are left?

Well for this latest installment I believe that there were 13 and we've already been through like 4 or 5 now?
From what I hear we have a couple more to go, then they'll take a break and resume again after the holidays. Maybe Feb or March, something like that.

I agree, it's getting interesting, albeit slowly. This is the first time we've had two groups that seem to be somewhat philosophically opposed on how to proceed through the zombie apocalypse, and the tension is building. Injuries and casualties on both sides. Plus, Rick and Shane openly butting heads for the first time, Andrea having serious identity issues, lots of problems in that camp alone.

Gotta remember: The human element is what makes this show different from most zombie fare.

I know I should start another thread, but out of curiosity, are any of you Walking Dead fans catching Hell On Wheels? Jury's still out on that one, it's also pretty slow in developing.

Yeah the show is definitely taking liberties with infections. If you think about it, Daryl kills zombies with his arrows, and just wipes them off with a dirty cloth. Then one goes through his midsection. He should be infected, but I don't think he will be. And I agree, it looked like the walker had only gotten to the outside of his boot.

But notice how Merle in the hallucinations had both hands? I wonder if Daryl will have them again, but one time the second hand is missing and it ends up being the real Merle.

Haha Darth you should just give it up, you hate all the current characters and only dig the one who's not around anymore :smug: I'd hate for you to get your hopes up!

And I watched the first episode of Hell on Wheels, I dug it. I'm not real committed to too much TV, I'll pick 1 or 2 shows and rock just that, right now its Walking Dead and Terranova

No doubt! God hates me. I wait all my life for a tv show about zombies & this is what I get! Getting even with me for the sins of my youth.

But I told Relic I'd move on, so I'm not beating that dead horse anymore. Long live Darryl!

So far I'm liking the second season a lot. I do like the human interest and character development side of the writing, with the zombie apocalypse as the back ground vehicle that conveys it. If it was nothing but relentless zombies and gore and mayhem, which works fine for a two hour movie, it would get old real fast for the series imo.

Screw that. I hated the cast of Firefl............never mind.

Obvious troll is obvious.

So I noticed in a Facebook post apparently Daryl had blood on his boot (something red at least I'm assuming blood). So that would explain why the walker went after his boot.

Darth Handsome isn't a troll, he truly dislikes everything on TV. He's not trying to stir up a ruckus, I think he wants to enjoy TV, just that TV is too dull for his entertainment-savvy mind :smug:

If you truly haven't seen Firefly, I bet you'd dig it. Acting and casting is spot on, really the holy grail of syndicated sci-fi television. It ran for a single season on Fox in the Friday 8pm slot of death, was cancelled much to the dismay of sci-fi fans who don't have anything better to do on Friday nights, and the makers did the movie Serenity years later to tie up the story. I think it was written by Joss Whedon, guy who wrote Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and a bunch of episodes of Roseanne according to IMDB!! haha)

And as far as the blood on his boot / why did the walker bite his foot thing.... we discussed the numerous plot holes and inconsistencies pages back, basically this is not the "thinking man's" zombie show.

So on the topic of the show....

Shane is still one of my favorite characters, and I hope the next few episodes prove him right and Rick wrong. I really want to see him hit rock bottom, once his fling with Lori comes out I expect him to go full crazy. Odd though that while Shane becomes more heartless, Darryl is warming up to people and obviously wants to be accepted into a family for what sounds like the first time in his life. Thats all fun and dandy but this isn't a Lifetime original, this is a zombie apocalypse. I hope he gets a dose of reality, thought taking a bullet to the dome would be it but he may already be too much of a p*ssy.
