The Walking Dead Series 2

Dale deserved to die, you don't go out walking alone at night when walkers are trying to eat you. You just don't.
He was armed and in a location with a history of limited encounters.

1. Darryl's brother will show up & join the group & become the new voice of the group.
I actually somewhat anticipate him being involved with this rival group that Randall was with.

Powerful episode.

I think the boy needs to be brought up a little better and he has too much of his mom in him.

I'm not a cruel guy, but after hearing about the other guy's camp, perhaps he's more useful with info, but I think we're supposed to believe he's a threat and on the fence with his intent.

Given the walker that got Dale, I think they need to stop arguing and start patrolling the area and start getting ready for winter.

Anyone else feel like they were trying to make up for the lack of action in the episode with the shock of killing off Dale? I liked him, too....
Also, someone really needs to discipline that kid. All he did the whole episode was mess stuff up...

It was total symbolism. Dale represented the voice of reason and morality, and now it's gone from the group. Prepare for some chaos. :D

P.S. When Shane goes - and he will - it's not going to be pretty.

Yes, Dale was the moral compass guy. Doesn't mean he was being realistic about what to do with the intruder. I will miss his character, he made for an interesting counterpoint to their whole crazy situation.

Based on what he saw and did (and did not do) in this episode, Carl the Kid is gonna be taking care of some important business for the group soon.

Well "Carl" was throwing what looked like real rocks at the mudwalker. It looked to me like he was probably coached to please not hit zombie actor in the skull or the gonads with the rocks. ;)

The question to ask is, Does Carl shoot like a girl...

No he screams like one, gets to close, falls down, drops gun and runs away while leaving the gun. Just like every girl who dies in every horror movie ever.

Ooooo that a good knife and a crossbow is all you would need.

I don't think either would be that great in the long haul since most compound bows and crossbows probably can't handle wooden arrows/bolts. I suppose to a certain extent, you could reuse carbon or aluminum arrows/bolts.

A compound bow takes a little more skill, but they have more range due to the longer power stroke and typically fly better than an ultra stiff crossbow bolt. The shorter length also throws off balance when you factor in the field point or arrow head.

With zombies, I've decided the perfect weapon might be a .22lr with a suppressor. A few thousand rounds weight nothing and take up minimal space.

You would have to get good but it's quite so it dosent alert zombies and you can reuse ammo.

Ruger 10/22 w/ a suppressor.
Cheap, easy to find ammo, you can carry thousands of rounds, it's quiet so zombies aren't going to hear it. It's lightweight and easy to carry, semi auto so you can keep plinking away at zombie noggins nice and fast. About the only thing you wouldn't have is range.
