.:-The Warwick Amp Club-:.

i got it for £60 off ebay (used) with the AC adapter. i think its a great little multi effects pedal for the price, but it can sound very 'electronic' at time - not natural, more forced. Like the overdrive for example, does not sound at all realistic compared to a natural tube overdrive or even just pushing the speakers a bit harder. its more of an electronic fuzz. but at this price, with all the effects, i really cant complain.

how do you like your rig? mine is very quiet, and i cant decide whether to get another 211, or buy the WCA 410. people say the 410 is not very good and i should steer clear of it altogether.

I like it, its got good sound IMHO. However due to mistreatment during shipping something inside the bottom right speaker cone came loose, and I could hear it rolling around inside the cone when I played. New cab will be here on the 28th. I mostly use the zoom for the auto wah and the whammy. I like to screw around with weird sounds. I agree that it does sound more forced and not a natural effect.

yeah i like to play with effects too, but i really didnt like the auto-wah so i bought the crybaby bass wah which is pretty good.

so your getting a whole new cab? wow thats lucky, so you have a broken cab which you can fix, and a brand new one!

I wish it was like that, I have to send the broken one back unfortunately. Man that would be sweet two for the price of one. How do you like that crybaby, I really want to get one.

I've posted a seperate thread as well but I was wondering what you guys think about Profet 5.1s. What do they sound like? Warm, clean etc.

Are they worth the money?

I love mine. The highs are crisp and lows are low. It me a little tinker to find the right sound to fit both of my basses. Although when I play my Streamer Standard through it the lows are a tiny but muddy. But through my Jazz Bass they sound great. The bright, and deep switches really help. I love the bright switch, good for slapping. Its really worth the money IMO.
regards,
Matt

"No way man!! I am that second warwick amp owner on tB
I have a Warwick Quad IV: 400 watts of b-e-a-u-tiful bass sound with 3 tubeys in the preamp, easily dial-in preamp settings (4 presets based on the quadruplet preamp of Warwick), 4 eq (low - mid low - high low - high).
I think it was designed to meet head on head with the ampeg svt-3-pro and it does this with panache.
Too bad they are discontinued, 'cause they are really great amps"

this was post 3 but now I finally upload the prove :D S5000558.JPG

New they weren't cheap but I found mine second hand for a nice price on the bay ... you have to be lucky sometimes.

Anyone know about the Warwick Pro Fet 5.2 head..

What's the sound like??

The Profet 5.2 is virtually the same amp as the 5.1 but with a more adaptive gain control in the preamp stage & an upgraded compressor that kicks in a little ealier.
Excellent sound & quality for the price.Very clean, loud & punchy. You get alot of amp for such little money.

Hiss? Are ya sure it's the amp & not a cable or a pedal?
Try plugging the bass direct into the amp,if it hisses, try another cable.
In my experience these amps are very quiet & shouldnt hiss.
If you bought it new it's under warranty for 1 year.If the hiss persists, take it back & swap it for another amp.
Good luck mate.
