.:-The Warwick Amp Club-:.

Well my used ProTube IV is working out pretty well... using it to drive a Bergantino HT322 cab but it does seem like I could use a little more power during practice. I think some of that is due to the older Berg's inefficiency and might sound different with a new 4x10.

I am digging the ProTube so much that I'd like to get a TubePath as my main amp and keep this one for backup, but I can't find where to buy one - at a realistic price that is. Right now there is one on Ebay with buy it now for 2k - yeah right! If I'm going to drop that much on a german amp I might as well get a Glock...

can anyone chime in on what the price range should be for the TubePath (5.1) should be? thanks!

Just got my Profet 5.2 and WCA 411 PRO! I played with it for two days and now im not so sure about keeping it. I think it lacks the mids and just amplifies the lowest freqs. I bought the 8 ohm version of the cab and this being my fist ''proper'' rig i really dont know a lot about them. I just read that there is also a 4 ohm version so how is it compared to the 8 ohm cab when plugged in 5.2?? i play mostly reggae so the sound should be right for me, but i think its not sharp enough.. at all.. I also think that it brings up the hum and cracklesounds(whatever) way too soon when increasing master volume.

The 4 ohm 411 pro will give you the full 500 watts of the amps power. With your 8 ohm 411 you're getting about 350 watts only.Add another 8 ohm cab or swap your cab for the 4 ohm version if you wanna run a single cab.
I owned this same set up(4 ohm 411) & it didnt lack anything.Maybe it's your bass, cables or effects chain that's causing the lack of mids & clarity. There's a hi freq. horn on your cab too.Dont be afraid to use it if need be.
The Profet series is very good value & a very loud amp with loads of clarity.
Good luck.

anyone got a tubepath? i've got someone offering me a mint condition tubepath 10.1 for £400, but I cant hear it and I dont know if its that good. they cost like £1000 new though

It's a great amp,if you're into vintage tube tones. You can make it sound like vintage Ampeg easily, but then get a whole lot more, including modern SS tones. It comes standard with chinese tubes, but if need be,ya can change them over for some better tubes for not alotta money.
I had a friend spill a bourbon & coke into his Tubepath,& after a quick mop up inside,it's still powering along to this day, after a few years of heavy touring.

I'm using a CCL-ND4 250 w combo. Does that get me into the Warwick amp club?

Had an older CCL previously, and sold it to buy an Ampeg rig - regretted it as soon as I started gigging the Ampeg, and gone back to Warwick.

Gigged last week with a very loud drummer and 2 guitarists with Marshall 100 heads into 4 x 12s - the combo did a great job!

I recently picked up a TubePath 10.1 used for a great price. It is very very nice. I'm just having some tube noise problems. I'll probably get some replacements and see what happens.

I can only compare it to a Mesa MPulse 600. Both are excellent and can live with either one. But, if I had to give one up. Don't know.

There are not many Warwick amp users here. I own a Quad VI and 211 pro cab. The Quad VI is VERY rare in the US. Actually, no store will accept it as trade in because they have no idea on it's used value - not even Guitar Center!

Aaah, another Warwick Quad-owner :D
I have a Quad IV and yes, it is an unknown (and therefore unloved?) amp.

But why would you try to trade it in? :hiding:
I keep mine as a backup for my Orange

You are correct. I should keep it because it is awesome and super rare. I am thinking about pairing it with a different cab though. I wonder how it would sound with an Ampeg cab? I've always wanted a SWR Triad too. Too bad Memphis doesn't have a good bass shop.
