.:-The Warwick Amp Club-:.

You are correct. I should keep it because it is awesome and super rare. I am thinking about pairing it with a different cab though. I wonder how it would sound with an Ampeg cab? I've always wanted a SWR Triad too. Too bad Memphis doesn't have a good bass shop.

Keep checking your local classifieds ... something is bound to pop up.
I used my Quad with two Hartke XL410's.

Count me in.. just picked up this setup yesterday, along with a Quad VI 600w amp that was thrown in for free because it needs a few broken knobs fixed.. for $700 total, and it's like f-ing new.

Two amps here ,
German Pro Fet IV [ with the " modern " font]
German Pro Fet IV [ with the older Italic Font ]
Two WCA211PRO Cabs

Great sounding rig , just eyeing up a Pro Tube IV at the mo .

Not really a fan of the Warwick Bass Line tho ..........

I know its not as nice as the tube path but I got an old warwick quad VI and a warwick pro 411 cab.
I love it!
Its too loud! its actually a little boomy for my taste, but as with my flea bass I like having more under the hood than I need.
I love warwick amps, I think they kick the **** out of ampeg but with versatility.
I am looking into a genz benz shuttlemax for portability and flexibility and headroom, but my VI is my pride and joy next to my modded jazz 5.

Glad to see this site... I have been a warwick player for years, have 5 warwick nt, love them all.
I use a GlockenKlang Heart Rock 11 amp which I love. Does not color the sound of my warwicks.
I use accuu groove speaker cabs as well.

I have put off buying one of the smaller, light amps Reason being, I don't like the way they sound.
They get " buzzy" in the mids. they all seem to color the sound of my bass'.

This was until I bought the Warwick LWA 1000. I can't say enough about this amp. THe Heart Rock
Two mentioned above is the most gorgeous sounding amp I have played through. It should be , as
it cost 2500.00. I was pysched to try the LWA, so I sent for one. I really thought it was going to
be just "okay" , like all the other small amps I tried and returned.

I WAS WRONG. This LWA1000 is unreal in its tightness, clear tone, and fast attack. Before I got
the Glock, which is solid state, I thought I needed a tube amp to have a warm tone. I was wrong.
With a high end solid state, you get a gorgeous warmth with total clarity. The LWA does the same
thing. Because both of them are solid state, the response time, ( time from your fingers to the
speaker ) is lightning fast. Due to this, it really challenges you to improve your technique. Ghost
notes come out clear and on time.

I do have one question, hopefully someone can answer. the lwa 1000 has a headphone out.
The manual says nothing about using this " Without " a speaker connected. In my experience
the head phone out normally allows you do this, so you can practice in silence, only sound
through the head phones.

I'd like to use this feature, but a person can damage an amp if they use it without speakers
connected...

Does anyone know if the LWA 1000 can be used with only head phones and no speaker connected to it ?

NOw that I hear this amp, I wish more local stores carried Warwick heads and amps. I would have
bought one years ago , had I known they sound as good as their bass's.

Before you get a GB shuttle max, please try the warwick LWA 1000. It kicks the butt off of every light weight amp out there.
I love GB stuff. I had a GB 1000 and enjoyed it, until I played through a GLockenKlang Heart Rock Two.

I also have a GB Streamer 900 watt. Its GB's small version of a lightweight tube amp. Its good, but after hearing the
LwA, I am going to sell it.

I waited years to get a small, lightweight amp, but did not like the " buzzy " sound they all seem to have in the mids.
The GB Streamer 900 , and the LWA 1000 . don't.

First of all congrats to the creation of the Warwick amp club ;) and second sorry if my english isnt always the correct one :D

Now lets go to my big question:

I have aquired a warwick pro tube IV and i want to explore it without having the need of having the speakers conected to the amp...Can i use the phones without having any cable (speakon or xlr) conected ?

What do you think? What are you using for power?

Appears as solid as it is neat, which was to be sort of expected due for it being the flagship of a German company.
I don´t have a head for it yet... Am thinking of either saving for a Hellborg or going with something like a Carvin DCM200L. I dont need much power for my needs. Just need it to be smooth, tight and noiseless - I hate fans.
